Suspension Woes- the "shakes, rattles and wobbles"
If anyone else has been keeping track with this thread here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...t=65288&page=2 As per Joker's request- here's a thread to address everyone's feelings with their suspension vibration, shakes, et al that seems to be an issue upon lowering.
The issue has been raised of bushing wear. The beginnings of that topic can be seen on the aforementioned thread. Lets get the discussion about aftermarket bushings, as well as other possible causes for these suspension woes, because I, like Joker, am about to lower my car, but loathe any sort of shake, rattle, wobble, vibration..so on, so on.

I'm getting a used set of H&R's tomorrow from a friend. I will ask him if his PSS9 (new) or the H&R's did this. Have you thought about raising the car some to see if that will aleviate the problem, then maybe start lowering by .5" until the the problem comes back. I havent heard of this problem before so I will ask around here.

i have the major rattles....only under load however i am trying to find a fix myself but i saw a couple days ago it may be an axle issue when lowering. my is real bad as it got progressively worse i have been lowered for almost 2 years now and it is getting real annoying

Get your car up on a rack ASAP and thoroughly check out your suspension (by a competent professional if you aren't qualified). You may have a serious issue that requires immediate attention.
My stock rear bushings wore out completely and caused "rattles" which is metal to metal contact. I replaced my bushings with mini-madness polyurethane examples as well as some bits that had been damaged by the metal on metal contact.

I found it!!!!
It's the droplink!!!! Just yesterday I finally got under the car since I installed a 22mm swaybar and some H-sport springs. For a month it's been rattling, as if one of the cans were loose or hitting something.
I notice the top of the OEM droplink was scratching the paint off of the top spring metal housing. One the other side of the car it was completely hitting it, prevent the shocks to compress.
I don't have pics but I'm going to find something online to point out the area in more detail.
I think, due to the thicker swaybar, especially at the wholes for the settings, it forces the droplinks in more, towards the centerline of the car, getting in the way of the compressing shocks.
The FIX: I rotated the housing, so that the droplink will hit the bushing, if anything. Probably why some people are having bushing problems.
I bet if we took a poll, most of these similar problem would be a result of the larger swaybars without tapered ends.
Pic to come in a few minutes!!!!

Here goes

This is a fake scratch, in photoshop but that's what you should look for. I don't have this swaybar, I have the "Prefered" 22mm. Also notice the amount of thread that is showing on the droplink's bolt. I don't have that much, It's pretty much flush, meaning my bar is thicker at this point. Anyways, the back of the droplink head is scratching on one side, but the other droplink is completely hitting the bottom of the spring housing.
I think I need to call the manufacturer out on this one. The swaybar needs to be a little longer, to clear the housing. :impatient

Also remember I have H-sport springs that lowered the car by 1 inch, causing these two things to come closer to each other under compression. If you rotate the housing, you can get the droplink to miss the metal and go towards the rubber bushing.
Running these cars are too low puts the axles a compromised angles. Nuzzo found this with his Grand AM car. I currently have a “Group Buy” going on for uprated, race quality axles. For those interested please contact me.
