The proper way to make a custom plate holder.....

This is the way its suppoed to be done. When they are bolted together, it looks cheap and hokey.

PM me if you want one.

Do you notice a slight pull to the right at high speed?

Nice work...very clean looking...and handy for those who need that plate. I'm kinda surprised the aftermarket...or MINI...hasn't offered one. Sure beats drillin'!

The most properest way to make a custom plate holder ever in the whole world...

Sorry Rick, still think mine is prettier :

But only because of the chrome license plate frame and higher placement. Proper way my ****. Cheap and hokey? Well yours looks like a battering ram, so there. Not everyone has welding equipment you know.

I do not think my plate holder looks cheap! Thank you very much.

It shows one has skill to make something of good use and them being creative!

Besides mine can be adjusted to different heights.

Yeah, all you need to do is tell me what height you want it at and i can build the holder to that height.

also, the way mine is now, you can adjust it to two heights.

looks to mee like your has a change of coling apart or moving around at speed.

i jacked my car up by my plate mount today just to see how strong mine was. i was able to get both front tires off the ground.

You tell him Garrett! I agree. They look the same to me. Welding, bolts, its all the same. Except that ours are probably lighter and good for at least 20hp You wont get much chance to see that front plate if you are behind me

Alright, enough talkin smack, I gotta go.

Ok ok, it doesn look cheap.

But you didnt say that it didnt look hokey.

Welding is the only way to go, bolting that together always will make it look temporary.

Well some do not have access to a welder. Besides this thing is not going anywhere. You would have to use some force for it to turn in any direction. No need for caps. the plate is a few inches away from the bumper! Besides to each there own!

Hokey? Well at least it doesnt look like a ramrod. Mad Max of the thunderdome and his ramrod licensce plate holder of death!!! Actually thats one of the things I like about it, if someone backs into me parking they hit the nice sturdy tow hook, not the bumper.

By the way, it is temporary. You think I want this front plate on here?

I'd say that we should leave poor Rick alone and stop hijacking his thread, but he really did ask for it in his title and cheap hokey name calling. And how could that really be aimed at anyone but you and I garrett as we are the only ones I've seen proudly posting our hokey cheap mounts? I hope Rick has a good sense of humor like we do.

lol, but yours is an actual towhook, i would hope mini trusts their hooks enough to pull a car with one.

mine is 6 inches out from the factory towhook location ,hollow tube and its welded and it can still be used to lift up a car.
