Factory Armrest sliding open during driving?

I picked up my MCS yesterday. I ordered it with the factory arm rest.

I notice that with very little effort, the clasp pops open and the rest slides back. Is this a known problem? Anyone fixed/hacked it? Or do I have a defective unit?

Dude, D.B.'ll be 2 weeks old tomorrow, and does the SAME thing This weekend I was thinking about heating the "Clip" with a hair dryer and then squeezing it tighter with some pliers while it cooled... but I was too lazy (and it was too cold outside) to do it

Mine opens very easily (10 days old) and I have seen other comments about how easy it is to open and slide back.

My MCS is about 2 mos old & from day one I noticed the same thing. It just opens very easily.

Yah, just have to be mindful of it. I've had my car with it since May05 and its always done it. Also hate how when I raise it the e-brake isn't fully exposed.

Same problem here!! Have had the new MINI for 2 weeks and it has done it from day 1. All you have to do is use it as "an arm rest" and it opens.
