Stripe/Decal Removal

I have/had frost stripes from cooper flags. Installed two years ago last week I was not happy with the fact that they faded and the material has broken down quite a bit. Well I am moving on now and have a new set of stripes from a local sign shop at an great price. The problem I am having is with the removal of the old stripes. They are not pealing off in one piece but rather breaking down even more. Any Ideas would be a huge help. Thanks

just gotta keep at it.

I used a little heat from a heat gun and a very sharp gasket scraper to get it to come off in larger pieces.

be prepared to spend some time with some goo gone no matter what though.

I was using a blow dryer on hot but I have a feeling I will be going for a heat gun in the morning. I have 3M addhesive remover also . I was looking for that secret trick to save me time.

Hey Rick,

Spent some money on a good heat gun and a couple of plastic scrapers. Also got a little Goo-gone. Took a bit of time but using heatgun to remove decal and then going back in with goo-gone things turned out great. I will have to take some pics of the new stripes.

Good to hear they came off alright.

I just peeled my off slowly and it got most of the goop off with the stripes, accept for the spots right around where i had started to pull them up.

So, got pics?

Well I am still working on it when the weather permits. I am half way done now. Take a look at my thread in performance mods "the big day". You will see what else I have been up to. I will be back to work as soon as things warm up to at least 45f. Then I will get you some pics
