This has already been discussed in another thread, all I can say is this. DO NOT PAINT THE INSIDE OF YOUR HEADLIGHTS! That's a SHOW CAR. If you paint the inside of the lights, there will be no more mirror, which will make your headlights essentially useless. The light won't be refracted into a beam. Trust me, I've had headlights out of cars before and turned them on without the mirror, you can't see thing except for the lightbulb. So, unless you plan to never drive at night, don't do it.

Of course its true! If it wasn't, I'd be all for you doing it - it would look pretty cool!

actually i've painted the inside of headlights before and you don't paint the reflective part, you only paint the inner housing so the light is not affected at all, if you look at the light bulb section itself you can see that the glass lense is not affected but the only part that is painted is the plastic pieces that divide up the inside of the light which do not reflect light anyway

I have to add that I want a Chili Red MINI but I can't see painting the inside of the lights red. Like blood shot eyes!!

Yes the black looks good in the photo but I'd like to see one in person away from the bright lights of the showroom.

i don't think a light color like red would show very well, it would be a bit flashy i think.

EXACTLY...

The Chrome housing is not essential to the beam. It is just to seperate the lamp shape from the bonnet... styling.

I say painting the chrome housing is a great idea... I plan on doing it soon. I may even use it as the start point for a graphic... and pull it outwards towards the back, along the bonnet on back to the rear.

MM,

Did you do this paint job yet? I'm afraid to take it apart.

Its a cool thing for a show car but I dont know about the real world. My question is on the gallery photos.... Does anyone know about the yellow lens covers on the RHR Cooper S. Are they legal? How does it change your seeing ability (if any)? I thought it looked really cool but not really sure thats something I do, (WHEN) I get my MINI.
