Sid... those look amazing!!!

So, question. Any chance you'd be posting a general guideline type thing? Not a how-to per se, because I know you mentioned that's not really possible... but just a general path that led you to the final result?

I definitely am going to do this, so anything would help out.

I SECOND THAT!!! what a pain in the A**!!! But here they are, they are done! Still need to find new glass for the one side but the crack is not to bad! Just going to keep my eyes open to buy a bad head light with good glass!! I dont think i would ever attemp this again! I am having issues with the lights and chrome rings sitting flush in the bonnet! I dont think i scrapped all the glue out of the channel that the glass slides into! So now I have to take them apart again!! But I will get it fixed!!

Thanks...it looks like we all share some type of problems...

Here's what I encountered...

1-Dissassembling the lamp with the oven caused some warpage, both during the heating and prying open.

2-If care is not taken, you'll contaminate the inside of lamp.

3-If care is not taken during reassembly of the lens, it may leak during rain.

4-The rubber seal MINI used is SOB tough ***** and GD@mn OVERKILL It's harder than the FN runflat tires...

I was able to mount mine fairly close to flush by removing most of the warped black flange. Somehow, the tape that I used to bind the lens back on left residue on one of the surface. After using various amounts of solvants, I have determined that there is no residue left but the tape has somehow left a microscopic impression that is not detectable by touch but is slightly visible. I'm sure that reinstalling a Invisishield will make this disappear.

Once again, do this at your own risk...it appears that some have had more success than others...

You could color code them so that they are Chili Red. That would be hot.
Now if I could just find a couple of bad headlights so I could practice, cause I dont think the wife would like me playing with them if I dont have an out.

I will! Thanks man! I'm going to have a closet full of parts before I even get the little monster.

About curbing the wheels: My GF laughs at me all the time because I am ALWAYS 6 inches to a foot off from the curb. She keeps waiting for me to get a ticket or side-swiped. I've just had too many friends rub a rim.

It said 45 min install. I didn't see anything saying what's involved in the process. What did you have to do inorder to install it.
