Does anyone know what the stock MCS exhaust pipe diameter is? There are two pipes each approximately 2" in diameter. I am trying to find chrome tips to replace the OEM tips for a more custom look without the expense of a new exhaust system. I assume that this has been done many times before but i have had no luck searching the forum.

 

These wre my findings but I admit I did not spent alot of time on this -

I looked into it but I couldn't get anything to fit due to the fact that the pipes
curve downward out the back. The stock tips are designed to offset that downward curve so they come out straight. The other issue was that the pipes (from the tips) curve immediately making any aftermarket stick out alot.

would love to see a "repacement tip solution"

 

it sounds like i will need to get an aftermarket exhaust if i want nice tips. Thanks for the feedback.

 

I was at my Dealer ordering a 06MCSa Oct. 1st and they had a set of tips that were in a glass showcase and I have been dreaming of them ever since I laid eyes on them and was planing on getting them when I pick up the car in 2 weeks. I didn't buy them then because I thought tips would be readily available online...I guess I was WRONG! I didn't catch who made them got so excited with ordering the car. Anyway if I remember them, they were chrome about 5-6" long and flared at the ends and had a faint bluing effect to them at the outside edge. I'll keep you posted if they are still there.

 

hey ocean, did you ever found out any info on those aftermarket tips?

 

Nothing yet my car is showing that it is at the VPC, still waiting to hear from my MA on when is will be ready to pick up, I'm hoping this Saturday 10/29. The dealer is two and half hours away so I can't just drop in. I did hear of someone who used the two chrome tips from the standard Cooper. I wonder if these are what I saw? Will keep you informed as soon as I find anythng out.

 

I just found out the dealer got them from Moss motors and they are for the cooper but that they knew of one person who bought 2 and converted them over to the Cooper S. The two that the dealer now has didn't match and they were different styles other wise I would have bought them and given them a try. I found a picture of a Cooper S that did this and it looked great from the photo. I'm feeling brave so I might go ahead and order two from Moss.
