Aero front bumper installed on PS MCS

Several sore thumbs later (thank you Aero grille) and I am pleased with the result. Notice the clear corner markers.
I am not happy about having to put holes in this pristine finish to suffice the RMV and their 2 plate requirement. I figure I'll drive around with it under my seat for a while, test the system (I'm pretty sho it's a moving violation in MA tho). I've got the Aero plate holder, I just can't see a way to fasten it with any kind of authority that will keep it in place as I spelunk the potholes along the N.Shore.

Nice job!

Very nicely done! I especially like the colorless turn signals! You done good!

It's a shame you have to mount a front plate! Fortunately in NC we only need the rear plate.

Looks good. Consider color matching your arches as well. All silver looks really good! (kind of biased)

Actually I'm thinking of painting them glossy black. I think it will look very nice as well

I thought about it..the MINI part is way to much for that. I'm looking at cutting some black vinyl to fit in those spots.

Think it will compliment my hood scoop

Thanks for the positive responses. Nice looking rides guys.
I agree that the color matched arches look sharp regardless of body color (but they look best on PS ). Shooler, your convertible is gorgeous. I've also seen seen gloss black arches in person, and that really sharpens up the look as well.
I was close to sending in the black trim along with the bumper, but I considered the amount of road damage they have sustained in the past 2 years and imagined if they had a coat of paint how they would look now. With gloss black it probably wouldn't look so bad, but with the lighter PS I think you would start to see the black plastic through the chips.

Thanks for the nice comments. Damage from road debris is definitely a concern. I am going to have clearbra installed on the front edge of the arches (already have it on the bonnet), as well as the rockers.
The idea of having vinyl cut for the foglight area sounds great. The Mini parts are nothing more than thick plastic stickers. I expected more for $67.00!!

minichrist,

Looks like you did a great job installing your aero kit front bumper. I would suggest you consider doing one more thing. Think about painting the "frame" around the upper and lower grills. I have only seen this done on a few cars, mine included, but it really makes a big difference and gives the car a more finished appearence. I understand that even MINI recommends doing this but hardly anyone ever does. It's a subtle but dramatic difference (if that makes sense). Most everyone who sees mine thinks it looks better than leaving them unpainted. Just a suggestion that will "refine" your look even more (and make your car look different from just about everyone elses--and isn't that what we're all after)

You can do as others say they have done. Get some zip ties and put it on your the pass. mirror (inside one lol) and then if you begin to get pulled over, just flip it down and say "You didn't see it up there did you?" lol

Sweet Ride

Great install. Like the clear corner markers and would be a nice touch to my mini to the back end of my mini - I didn't have them installed on the front.

I also went with the Hamann apron for something different.

Cool blue arches for me!

Pretty sweet rides all around. The front plate is sure a killer to the front end.

Sweet ride Painted arches add a lot to the car.

What did you go with on suspension - looks like you lowered the car? If lowered who did you buy it from? What year is your cabrio?

Thanks for the nice remarks! My cabrio is an 05. I had the car lowered by Mini Madness with H-Sport springs using the stock shocks. I am looking into the new Koni FSD shocks to finish it. I had some minor rubbing issues at first (wheels are 17X7.5, 42mm offset, with 215/45 rubber), but it has since dissapeared. The ride is firm, but in a good way.
