Aero Grill and front bumper for Stock MCS Bumper

Hello Everyone;
I just bought a brand new Jet Black MCS 05 and want to get rid of all the chrome "bling" on my car. I already replaced the stock 17" for a nice set of BBS RGR's 17 black.
So.
What do you guys think of installling only the front bumper of the aero kit since it gives the car a more dynamic front view but keeping the rest of the parts stock.
Instead of only changing the grills to black ones I just thinking of installing only the front bumper from the aero kit.
What do you guys think? Would the lines flow with the rest of the car, or for instance it will look odd and unfinished?
thanks for your help to all.

PS: not to worry I am waiting for the lowering kit to arrive...the car looks right now as if it was ready for a RALLY race!
PS: my girlfriend in the picture.

fdavid,

Aloha and welcome to NAM.

Adding an aero front bumper only? Sure, it's been done and is fine.

Normally the aero bumper needs the aero bumper grill (due to the alignment of the mounting tabs and slots in the bumper) not the stock bumper grill (which shares the outer dimension only). The bonnet aero grill is easy to install.

No real need to do anything more. Side skirts and rear bumper are optional.
I think you will be fine.

Nice MINI.
Post more pictures.

Nice wheels. I think the front Aero bumper would look good, including the aero grilles.

DJ_Konky you want to trade your mirror covers with mines? Are your mirror covers painted Jet Black, chipped? Let me know.
BTW: Very nice picture. Love how the car looks in movement. The rack looks great. Will need to install one in the winter for a snowboad and skis (girlfriend). Is that a Mini original rack system? or a Thule?
email me.

Nice move on not installing the back decal (fake grill) it looks so much nicer!

Thanks for the pointer. I might just wait. Ill first try to replace the grills and the mirror caps for starters. If it doesn't do it for me Ill consider installing the whole Aero Kit once in the city. I am currently on the west coast. Will be back in Manhattan at the end of summer...garaged of course.

**By the way: I bought the car a couple weeks ago and it still hasn't rained...all I have to do is water down the car and wax for the nth time!
Amazing, getting spoiled with this weather. I'll enjoyed while it lasts.

Guys I haven't been too lucky finding a picture of someone who replaced the front bumper with the aero kit one.
If you guys come across one let me know.
I would like to see how it looks before I make a final decision.
Just got the parts to change the chrome grill to a fully blacked out version but might hold back to actually install the front aero kit.

Good Morning fdavid

I have a 04MC with the aero kit but I have retained the original grill you can see it in my gallery. Maybe this will help.
