JCW Door Sill Pix Please

I have the JCW doorsills in my garage waiting to install. I am debating installing on top of the old ones (if you have done this please post a picture) or removing the old ones (if you have done this please post)... I have heard the JCW sills are thinner and you can see/feel the bolts underneath.... any thoughts comments?

Good question. Recommend just putting them on top of the old ones. Last year I installed the JCW sills, but first I removed the old ones then cleaned the surface well. I wish I had put them over the old ones because they look/feel a little wavey because of the bolt caps underneath which on my car don't fit perfectly flush.

I just had my side skirts painted (brand new ones) and I'm planning to add the JCW sills again, but this time on top of the existing ones .

Removed old, Installed JCW...waavy graavy.

I'd recommend cleaning the original sills thoroughly and putting the JCW directly on top.

How is it from the side? It doesn't stick up too much does it? They are pretty slim, but Murphy's law is that if it does stick up, my wife will catch a skirt on it

I have the aero kit

on my car and I installed the JCW door sills. It is different in that situation because they adhere to a flat surface. No waves whatsoever.

I removed orginal sills and spent about 90mins removing residue from body. It will be much easier when I install new JCW sills to Aero sill.

Not a great picture of sill but you get the point.

As per JCW Garage (18th June) they should go on top of the stock sill's they will stick up a bit. or take cooper s off counter sink the rocker panel so the screws drop down more so you will have a flat sill...

I had heard that the sills are wavy when you remove the original ones, so I stuck mine over top of the existing sill plates.
