Don't you have one in your tool kit?

THEM LUCKY NUTS GOT TO DRIVE NURBURGRING?!?! Well back on topic, I know a few people who actually did their tow hooks in Red here in Michigan, as it is a trend here. Seems if you have it on you never need it (runs and knocks on wood). I would ask Ryephile as he knows how. I have the original one on my LY MC, but on my MCS I will not have one on.

Crevier must have reamed me because I didn't get a tool kit. What does it include?

I believe you can get a tow hook at a rigging loft. I guess it would depend on the threads??

If you've got an S it should be in the boot behind the snap-out panel on the driver's side wall. Little plastic roll-up bag with stuff in it, including the tow hook. Dunno if it's in the same place on the non-S.

If that fails, you can get one from the dealer. It should be pretty cheap.

Actually on my 05 MCS the tool kit was in with the battery in a foam pack. There was nothing in the left panel in the boot and the right was filled up with the HK amp.

They have been moving the kit around. It was in the driver side back hiden hole area on the S. Now they have moved it to a foam block that wedges in next to the battery. On coopers they should be under the mat in the back in a large foam block with a bunch of other stuff. if you go to the dealer and they can not find it, and you bought the car new from them, they should be able to get you what you need free of charge. Good Luck!

Get Them Free

Go to your dealer. They have tons of them when new cars come in. They use them to hold the cars down for shipment. Every salesman at my dealership has them in his desk.

I bought the Avispon Verde at Christmas '05 and drove it down here to Guatemala the first week of January. When I got it I saw there was no tow hook, the nice folks at Bob Smith MINI ordered one for me and gave it to me. [They obviously didn't know where it was either.] I also bought some basic tools since there wasn't anything. Imagine my surprise almost three months later, reading AGOKART's post and then discovering that that block of styrofoam next the battery was actually a tool kit.

Thanks/Saludos
