I'm trying to add a roof rack to my f56 2 door Cooper S. The issue I'm finding is that you have to buy the rails + the actual rack separately. And it really racks up some $$$.

Where can I find affordable (sub $500) roof rack systems? Ebay?

Any help would be appreciated

 

I built mine from used Yakima components found on eBay. I don’t think I spent over $170 for mine. I don’t know the factory rails, so that wasn’t an option. Q-towers are the only ones I purchased new (about $90), the rest on eBay.

 

I've found a number of good deals on Craigslist. The only issue is that the site is a bit hard to use for anything out side the semi-local area.

I happened across SearchTempest and was able to search much more of CL to which I found all kinds of goodies for sale.

I know there's quite a number of roof racks for sale - just make sure that you get the one your after; I bought one and come to find out it was for a F55. Luckily the seller refunded the purchase cost, but I ended up eating the shipping which I put on my FedEx account.

Exactly what I was looking for.

 

Are the qtowers universal or do i need to get specific ones for my F54 Clubman?

oh cool! let me double check the yakima site to see compatibility. for some reason nothing is showing up as compatible for a 2017 Clubman.
