After spending too much money having one custom chromed, I spied MossMINI's in their catalog. The custom-job lasted about two weeks before a dump truck cut in front of me and dropped some gravel on it. I decided not to send it to California for repairs, and ordered the Moss version. Super impressed for the price. Has a great looking mesh inside - so no mod needed there. Now I keep the dinged one on my car for daily driving and the Moss one for shows. Got me First in Class at the KC All-British Car Show last weekend!

Couldn't get any easier. Has 3M double-sided tape along the edges on the back. Moss gives you a cleaning solution to clean the edges of the scoop before applying. Just place the insert over your scoop and press firmly. Can't tell at all that your entire scoop isn't chrome, especially with the mesh on the inside. I think it looks terrific and not at all "cheap". In fact, looks better than the $200 custom job. If you want your scoop chromed, this is definitely the way to go.

Only picture I have for now - may give you a small idea of what it looks like. Can't see the mesh because the sun was too bright.

Here's a closeup

Here's a close up of ylwjkt's chrome scoop - before the gravel dent

I took the photo at a club get together where we both were over the summer.

Almost makes me want one of my own!

I was so glad to see your picture of the chrome scoop. I was thinking about getting one, even put it on my "santa" wish list, but I too was worried about the quality. Couldn't quite tell from the description. Great to know if santa comes through that it will look that good.

a perfect example of adding 'bling' with the sacrificing of performance.

That screen is probably blocking about 30-45% 0r the air flow to the already air starved intercooler!

Sorry for the outburst but this is one of my most hated mods.

I have it and love it. As far as reduced performance--I have not noticed. My butt meter can not differentiate pre/post install. Maybe it "focuses" the air intake--which may result in "more HP/torque" . Personally, coming from V-8's with 350-400HP the fun of my MCS has not been lessened one bit by the added bling. Have fun.

Dear Onasled,

That's one thing I really love about this site. I can be thinking one way, and someone else throws something in that never even occured to me. Food for thought...I love it, keep it coming
