Spec D Tail Lights - Fast Blinking
Hi all,
I recently picked up an 05 R53. I'm selling my 06 R53 so I'm moving a bunch of parts over to the 05. I swapped my Spec D LED tail lights over, and now my turn signals are flashing super fast. The light on the tach just flashes the hazard light.
This wasn't the case in my 06 - they worked perfectly. Is there a difference in the resistor requirements in 05?
Thx.

They should be the same. I would check the bulbs. Personally I really like the euro taillights for the 05+ first gen .

Sorry to bring an old thread back to life...
I just changed out my cloudy old OEM lights on my '05 R53 for the black smoked LED lights by Spec-D Tuning.
After installing them (they fit perfectly, no complaints there), the turn signals would start fast-blinking after 3-5 flashes on the right side, and after about 15-20 flashes on the left side. My front and side markers (all incandescent) were fully functional, and the problems followed to the other side when I swapped the Spec-D lights left and right. I put a multimeter on the Spec-D resistor, and read 12.7 Ohms (spec-D resistors are labeled 50 watts/12.6 Ohms). I noticed that they heat up faster than I expected, but wasn't sure what the problem was.
I went to my local auto parts store and bought the Sylvania Load Equalizer kit for LED lights ($15) (27 watts/6.0 Ohms) and soldered them in place of the Spec-D resistors. No more fast-blinking problems, and they don't get as warm as the Spec-D resistors. Hopefully I don't fry anything, but so far, everything is working properly.
Just wanted to post my experience here in case someone else ran into the same problem.
