Switching between 2 sets of wheels & TPMS

My 2013 "justa" Cooper came with 15" base wheels I'll be keeping for winter use.
I plan on bolting on 16" wheels for the rest of the year and was wondering how difficult it will be to use the TPMS system with both sets of wheels.

What I mean is, I dont want to go part of the year with my TPMS light always on. Is it as simple as "resetting" the TPMS every time I swap wheels? Of course, the new wheels will also have the proper sensors in them.

Also, would I be able to do that myself each time or would I need to take it to the dealer? Do the new sensors have to be "registered" with the car electronically somehow?

Thanks!

I have a 2013 Roadster and when I ditched the run flats I bought a set of wheels, tires, and sensors from Tire Rack. Once mounted, I just reset the TPMS system and drove for about a mile and the system reset to the new sensors.

Thanks!
So, I can just keep doing that each time I swap my wheels? Will the system automatically know which sensor is at which position on my car?

You're welcome. You also might try doing some searches in that forum on 'TPMS', subject comes up fairly often. Good luck..

Yes. Just make sure to get the right sensors. The older 2007-2009 sensors won't work.

I found that out recently by accident in one of the threads. I'm glad I havent bought mine yet. Unfortunately, the sensors that came with my used wheels are the older versions that won't work with my car because my R94 Bridge Spokes are off a 2009 car.
