install problems some JCW carbon fiber parts - please help!

i recently ordered and received (from sewellparts) the JCW carbon fiber shift ****, JCW CF e-brake handle, JCW alcantara shift boot, and the JCW alcantara e-brake gaiter. i installed them w/ redlinegoods DIY but have found that

1. the e-brake handle is completely loose since it doesn't seem to attach to the actual e-brake like the OEM one does and

2. the shift **** seems to spin very easily which is annoying when i shift

does anyone else have this problem or know of a solution besides super glue or something that is irreversible?

Hopefully this will help. When I did mine, the shift **** needs to be pushed all the way down, until it clicks into place. You are seating it in a grove at the bottom, which keeps it from spinning. The e-brake needs to be cemented on the metal part of the handle. I used silicone on mine, letting it dry over night, and it worked great. It takes a little doing to keep the glue inside the CF handle and not all over the hand brake release button. Good luck!

Not so sure about the #1 issue there, but with #2, I'm betting that you didn't pound it in there right and give it another pound with your fist and it'll lock into place.

yep. that worked. still not sure about #1 though.. also it doesn't even seem like the alcantara gaiter is long enough to cover the base of the e-brake handle when the e-brake is down and NOT engaged..

Use a little masking tape on the end of the metal handle, covering the release button before sliding the carbon fiber part over it. Once you slide over that and the position is good, pull off the masking tape and clean any adhesive that managed to slip by. Let it set overnight and you should be GTG.
