LED License Plate Lights

Anybody ever try these? http://umnitza.com/umnitza-umnitza-l...ts-p-1337.html

They make good quality ****, i ordered angel eyes for my e46 3 series a while ago and worked out great. It says that it doesn't throw any codes on the new e60 5 series, so i don't see why it would throw a light out code on the mini. Guess i'll be the test dummy if nobody else trys it :D

I don't want imitation LED bulbs, I want the real deal. They sell the previous, less bright, V3 bulbs for about $15. I got the V4 bulbs though. Go big or go home! They should be in by friday so I'll let you guys know how it goes.

They seem to be direct replacements for BMW license plate lights. BMW actually has an OEM LED version on some models, and someone here installed them on their MINI. It wasn't a direct fit and required cutting and gluing.

It turns out that the post I saw was for 1st gen: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...24-post46.html. People have discussed the LED lights from an E90 but I haven't seen any conclusion about whether they fit directly on a 2nd gen.

not sure why you'd want your plate lights to be more illuminated... i was considering covering half of the SMDs on mine just to dim it. but to each his/her own.

It's not that hard to read a license plate, regardless of the lighting. It's about the clean look of LED's.

The OEM BMW module requires modification to get them to fit right. Somebody on here has already done it. The lights I'm ordering are direct replacement for cars w/o led license plates. I'll let you guys know how it works out.

Worked like a charm. No error code, bright, perfect color, etc. Install: all you do is swap the old license plate bulb for the new LED one! I'll take a picture of them tonight next to the 335i for comparison.

I got mine from ledautomotive.com, and I love mine as well. OH and Krim, they dont make the license plate any more noticeable than it is with regular bulbs, just a different shade of light.

Led's

The led's I put in work great, however my bulbs creat a strobe like effect When the car is unlocked. Once lock the doors the strob like effect stops. Interesting.

They flicker, due to the systems excess power after shut off. Regular bulbs have a higher resistance than diodes, and therefore the low voltage is not enough to light them.
If you were to solder a resister inline of your LED's to make up the difference, or find a higher SMD model [more LED's=More resistance] then they wont flicker all ghetto like.
