Checkered Rear View Cover 02-04?

I've looked all over for a checkered rear view mirror cover for an 02-04. I've only seen them for the 05+. Anyone know where to get one?

Just cut out some vinyl squares like I did and stick them on the back of your Mirror.

Did mine long time ago that way, looks the same as the covers and lots cheaper.....

You can use any color you want. I used silver - 3/4" squares I think for this set up......but the originals are more like 1" square.

When you buy most vinyl pin stripe tape like at Autozone, the packs come with a small sheet of vinyl in the front part of the package to show the color of the pin stripe. So each package has a small sheet which is about 2" x 3" in size. I happend to have a few packages laying around and just cut up these sheets into what I needed.

But ANY vinyl shop in your area can sell you a 2 foot roll of 1 inch vinyl tape of what ever color you want.

The last option you have is to swap out your current rear view mirror for one made for a 2005/06 model. It's plug and play, then buy the cover from Outmotoring.com. I prefer the mirrors we have because they are smaller though. My 2 cents.

I've got auto dimming mirrors, so there's no swapping for me, besides, I like the smaller mirrors too. I'll pick up some vinyl, thanks! What did you use to cut straight, a paper trimmer?

I used sharp razor blades and careful measuring. A metal edged ruler works best to run the edge of the razor blade against it for nice straight lines.

Here is another shot from last year. You can see the mirror a little better.
