R53 owner...interior noise problem..(loosen interior noise problem)?

Anyone is having this problem?

I think is kind of like loosen interior ..and they are so annoying...

Came out somewhere from the dashboard.....

I found that the cup-holder makes noise ,too ...i think i will unscrew the piece and paste a thin cotton piece between the plastic piece .

See if i can keep it silence...

Anyone have even good idea ?

Thanks~~

I have done a lot of rattles fixes on my R53 as have Alot of others on here.
If you look through all the threads you will find some good information on how to make the car quite.

Where each section of dash board pieces meet, in both the 5 and 3 piece dashes, there is a lip. Those lip edges are covered with a thin layer of adheasive backed cellophane tape. Eventually this thin piece of plastic strip loses it's ability to prevent these rubbing noises.

Best solution is to remove dash cover and take dash pieces off, then relayer the lip edges where dash pieces meet with a new layer of adheasive backed felt. Apply to all points where the dash top makes contact the dash frame, same solution.

If at any time you have unresolved noises. First thing I would do though is remove ALL loose gear in every compartment and every cubby hole and see of that is the fix..... no sense to going to all this trouble if indeed the problem are some matchbox cars left by child last riding in the car....

You may also want to check the motor mounts. If they are bad you can do all the fixing you want inside but it's just going to come back if you don't address the source. What year and how many miles are on the R53?

Absolutely correct. Esp if it sounds like it is coming from the area behind the glove box check the inside fender area under the mount for leak stains.
