Seat swap 2007 mcs seats to 2005 mcs

Hello im in need of some help here. I purchased some 2007 mcs seats for my 05 cooper s and have noticed the airbag plugs are different, i have the harnesses from the 07 car but was wondering if any one has done this and had any issues with the plugs and are they the same color wires?? Also i believe the new seats are heated how can i make work?? Please help....

For the heated seat, I think you could might be able to buy the wiring and buttons from the dealer. And then you can plug that into your seat.


I have no idea about the airbag though.

I have no idea about the airbag though.

Well i went back out to the jun car and it did not have the heated buttons, so im guessing the heating elements are not in the seats??

swap the plugs for the airbags

David-look carefully into the open side (not wire side) of the airbag plugs and you can see a litte "tab" that holds the wire end into place. A very small, sharp pick type tool, slid into the plastic housing, will release the wire and end fromt he housing. it willbe important to note left/right wire positions, you should be able to put your plastic housings onto the newer wire ends. hope this helps
