Black grill on a non-S ?

Has anyone put a black grill in place of the standard chrome on a non-s/justacooper? This would be for a 07+, I would love to see pictures as I'm considering it.

Thanks!!

One of the reasons I bought an "S" was for the black grille. Of course also for the scoop, the center dual exhaust and the turbo, etc., but I didn't like the chrome grill.

I did mine with black tape over the center grill chrome parts. Its fast and easy and I can go back to the chrome if I want to. Here's my picture below.

I'm getting black rims in the spring too! I love the look, but I took the black beltline off, and the emblems are back to chrome too.

Kinda bringing this one back from the dead... but did anyone have any trouble with the fit of the JCW grill on their Non-S?

I read another thread where the OP said he had trouble with it and inevitably scratched the front bumper due to fitment issues. Also, he said it was a common problem.

Here's the link: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...tock-trim.html

Anybody else have similar fit problems?

The JCW was no issue for my 07. It went right on. I can't imagine it changed for 08s and 09s, but who knows.

I have a brand new jcw black grill trim that I plan to sell for $50. It came with aero kit but I already had the parts. I also have a standard s grill as well for sale.

Plan to post for sale this week. Pm me if anyone is interested in either piece.

Unfortunately, the MCS grill and grill trim won't fit the MC, but hopefully someone with an MCS will see this and contact you.

That's a JCW grill (specifically for the Cooper) with the standard Cooper grill surrounds.

The size and shape of the MCS grille and surround is different from the MC. But the replacement grille in these photos is available in either size. You just have to specify which version you want when you order the grille - MC or MCS. or stated a different way, you CANNOT take an MCS oem grille and put it on a MC unless you want to do some body work.
