Show off your "black out" mods!

I recently caught the black out bug. I just did my belt line, and then went and ordered the cooper side scuttles, aswell as aesthetic creation's door handles/ gas cap/ and headlight rings. So i'm a little late to get on the band wagon but i always thought it looked great.

So Yeah, post pictures of your Mini with your black out mods, anything from mirror caps, to car wraps haha

update!

Just blacked out my beltline last night. Will get pics shortly. Had a heck of a time w/bubles around the bend by the boot though... Oh well, easy enough to redo when I decide to.

How'd your beltline come out?

I did an interesting one over the winter. I was visiting a shop is owned by the company I worked for. They had just gotten some new powder coating equipment. So I had some free time at the end of the day, pulled off the OEM rally lights, bead blasted them in their machine, then they powder coated them black for me. The whole process from taking them off the car to putting them back on only took about an hour, and best of all it was free!

Completed my full black out a few months ago, starting with the belt line. Head light rings and door handles were done by Lyle at Vinyl Styles. The side repeaters, gas lid and front and rear emblems were blacked out using "Plasti dip". This picture shows my "canyon carving wheels, Konig Feathers that started off matte silver. A few months ago I had them powder coated flat black. I've considered doing the "Joey Mod" but have decided to leave the headlights alone ! The second picture shows the blacked out rear emblem, ruby red taillight by "Vinyl Styles" and how the rear hatch has been shaved !

Yeh, Paulie's car is an incredible example of blacking out. Very nice details and the red lights provide a nice offset to the otherwise monochrome look.

Hi folks

I like a little bit of chrome, so I don't intend to touch my headlights, door handles or fuel cap.

I blacked out my:

waistline, using Outmotorings kit.

tail lights, by cutting them open and painting the chrome

the centre of my S

MINI emblems front and rear

the rear number plate recess

Just finished "plasti dippin" the HL, TL, gas cap and door handles on my 08 MCS. Also i just installed carbon side scuttles (from NVD motorsport).

I ordered the color matching (dark silver) Mini logos for bonnet and tail, i still have to figure out what route to take with the Cooper S and R56 chromed letters on the tail...

Sorry the car is dirty in these pics, i had just finished the paint so i'm waiting a few days before washing it.

** adendum ** the Cooper S and R56 emblems are now gone of the tailgate

Here is my Black-Out Electric Blue R53. I got rid of the chrome, darkened the tail lights, added the body kit, and rebadged the car. Not to mention the 175hp I'm getting at the wheels. (Thanks Alta!)

Very nice, I like the black "R53" ! I shaved my hatch for the clean look but, that sets off your hatch nicely !
