dwf137 is correct!

Although the most important reason for debadging is it adds 1.5 HP and cuts 0.000067 secs off your 1/4 mile runs.

What is the official "tool of choice" for debadging?

I've read some people use dental floss, others fishing line. The dental floss, (I assume waxed), will not scratch paint, I think that is why I've seen it used so widely.

But always looking for a better way!

Don't believe there's an "official" one, but the waxed dental tape(especially the mint flavored one), not floss, allows you to get a good grip to make it tight whereas the fishing line could cut into your fingers. Debadging as soon as possible after you take delivery also allows easy removal because the double sided tape has not had much time to cure. I always use a hair dryer to soften the adhesive before using the dental floss.

Whatever method you use, take care as to not scratch the paint while removing the badge. Don't try to pry it off, let the dental tape do it's job.

I didn't buy an 'S'. Guess I don't understand the need. But, to each his own aesthetic.
