Clear lenses arent neccessary, you can just take out the orange ones and you will be fine. Just be sure to get chrome painted bulbs to swap out the clear ones already there.

What about the possibility of dirt/dust/moisture getting in your housing? Have you had any problems?

The light assembly is still sealed up so unless you have a leaky rubber gasket there won't be any dirt, dust or moisture.

So is there a difference between removing the amber lenses with Halogens .vs the HIDs?

Has anyone documented how to do it with the HIDs like below?

7507 looks about right. Just google the bulb type and compare the results to the one you have.

7507 is correct (the prongs are not 180°) but 7506 will work.

also -- since my car came with clear lenses (THANK GOD) I just lightly painted the amber bulbs with silver paint; even the silverstar bulbs need to be painted as well or they are too blue.

in my limited experience with the chromed out bulbs they're pretty dim compared to standard amber or painted amber bulbs.

I understand the way you remove the orange lens but how you replace it with the clear even if you disassemble the headlight.

I see your lights are apart but just want to know if you did a joey mod cuz everthing is black except the reflectors... or was there more chrome housing.

- Removed my front orange turn signals, and bought some silver bulbs for them.
- I purchased stealth bulbs for the side repeaters to give it that 'all clear' look.
- I ordered some clear turn signal tailights from Classic mini for $100 each. (typically 125 but I got a nice NAM discount )
- I also ordered some stealth bulbs for the new tailights.

So im pretty happy with the new look, and heres some pix of the new look!!
That looks awesome! Where did you buy the rear tail lights from?
I'd like to do all clear lens on my 2010 Cooper (I was going to order them, but Oxygen Blue got discontinued & I couldn't order it specifically).

1. No one has found clear front lens, correct? But I can open up my headlights and just remove the orange one and leave it out without a problem? Then just replace the bulbs?

2. Can I get the link of where to buy the tail lights? Dealer?

3. is there a tutorial somewhere on how to remove the headlights from the car and take out the lenses?

So tell me, How did you remove the front lenses from the headlight assembly? I still haven't seen or read a description of how its done. I have my side markers white and tinted out. Now working on the fronts.

Any info would be appreciated!

And if Chubby is still out there, how can I get my hands on a set of those clear lenses?

Thanks!
Bob

I was going to take my headlight assembly's out and remove the yolk since I got some silverstar bulbs. However I ran into a snag. Anyone have this issue in the video I made?

So I attempted this today and ordered these Orsam Diadem bulbs (http://www.powerbulbs.com/product_detail.asp?prod=102)... but they DO NOT FIT. The pins are not in the correct place! Now I'm out $15 with bulbs I don't know what to do with... and am driving around with a car with illegal turn signals...

Trying to find another set similar (or chrome) with the right offset.

Other places I'm seeing that a car with Orange lens comes with straight pins and the clear lens cars have the offset pins. If this is the case, I could maybe find a replacement socket from a white signal lens car...? Trying to decipher this... part 4? http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...68&hg=63&fg=05
