chubby, so all in all to change the lense you dont have to take the headlight out?
after that you change out the lense, then just put in the silver bulb and your done?

seems pretty easy and satisfying mod.

id like to try it out!

I believe Sketch has just removed his orange lense from the headlight assembly and put in the silver bulb. His pictures look good.

I am trying to wait for ChubbyChecker to mold some clear lenses. I haven't heard from him in a while so maybe family/work obligations or manufacturing issues are going to force me to do the lens removal rather than a replacement.

I wish! I have not seen any posts that this can be done. I believe that Sketch ended up buying new rear light assemblies. (Sketch, if I'm wrong please correct me.)

Not getting the clear lenses in my build was the biggest mistake I made in ordering.

The lenses in the tail lamp are not a separate piece. They are molded as one assembly.

Here's my clear front turn signals...I just ordered some custom silver painted turn signal bulbs. EASILY could have done it on my own by buying some chrome paint and some orange bulbs...

Here are some photos for those curious.

(I need to detail this thing in a major way!)

So who do I order a set of clear lenses from? I have the halogen headlamps, are the turn signal lenses the same as the HID turn signal lenses?

Xenon folks, do you need to take the headlight apart to get the orange out?

Not completly, just the section that houses the lense.

As far as I know the clear lens are not available. The OP was making some for a while, but has not offered them for sale as of yet. The dealer only sells the whole headlight unit at a high cost.

I thinkyour only reasonable cost option at this time is to remove the orange lens and replace the bulb with one that blinks orange.

Chrome bulbs without the lense looks better than a frosted lense anyway.

Sketch,
You've had your orange lenses out for a while now. I love the look, but have worried about dust and dirt getting into the headlight assembly. I would dread having to clean it. Do you any dust in the light assembly or film on the inside of the surface of the cover now?

Any word on the clear lenses availability? Has anyone experienced any problems after removing the orange lenses?
