I've just ordered a Mini Cooper with red body, white roof and red sports seats and interior. Will this look a bit too much. Does anyone else have this combination and regrets not having black or grey inside? Any photos?

 

I just ordered the red interior as well and hope that I will
like it when it comes in. My MC is Pepper White/Pepper
White. I think the red interior will look great with your
Chili Red. If I were you, I'd put a dark tint on the windows
(20% if you can get away with it) and then you won't see
the inside and outside so much at the same time. Did you get
the anthracite trim?

i have a red mcs with 20% window tint and black interior seats

i think the red interior on the red car looks a bit tacky..i think its over the top

then again its ur car, and ur money..

well i have a MC CR/B, red interior and antharcite. I jus wanted something different inside, and it is. I like it, in pictures it looks really red, but in person it's not that bad. but like ryan said it's your money, its your car....

Aloha and welcome to MCO,
I say go for it. Few have the "guts" to go all out and do it in RED bigtime. Remember from the outside they cannot easily see the inside if you tint the windows dark and from the inside you cannot easily see much fo the car except the red hood. So the answer is that you only see the red in and out if you open the door or let the window down which isn't that much unless you want it to be.

So for the exterior you have the grille, the headlights, the bumper accents, the roof and the mirror and maybe stripes to offer contrast. For the interior there are the floor mats and maybe chrome accents and a center arm rest that can offer some contrast.

Also it might not be a really good idea to powercoat your wheels red or buy a red racing suit with red gloves and red driving shoes. All back might be cool. Albeit hot on a summer day.

 

I have an IB/W MCS with Lapis blue leather interior. If someone had told me all that blue would look good together I wouldn't have believed them, but the car looks fantastic (IMHO). I haven't seen the red interior and I'm not generally a fan of red cars, but I could picture it looking pretty nice if it's anything like the interior of my car.

Does that include red carpeting? If so, you can always get some black floor mats to tone down all the red if it's too much for you. My car has blue carpet and the black mats help cut down on what could be too much of a good thing.

Int & ext, sport seats with cloth red and black.
I love it....you gotta tint the windows too..makes the whole package look good.
I've gotten nuthin' but compliments on the interior.
Also, for you to think about, I installed all the chrome rings for the int gauges too....upgrades the interior look.

I love my MINI!!!

Sounds like you and I are twins!!! I've ordered the same car and don't think the red is too tacky. Actually, the only reason I went with Chili Red was because they didn't offer an Indi Blue interior for the base Cooper. I do agree with the others that a window tint would definetely complete the package.

Count me in! My Cooper is red & white with red interior. It was my first choice when I ordered my MINI and couldn't be happier. It's not TACKY-it's fun and unique. I have very dark tinted windows and white wheels. Just added center white twin thin stripes down the middle- bumper to bumper. Not tacky enough? I have a card -the Ace of Hearts on my roof. At least it's not boring.

From the responses, maybe what you picked is not uncommon. And these owners seem very happy with their choice of red inside and out. Next best is the dark look with the anthracite and CR/Blk exterior. Most color combinations with the MINI are quite good.

Same color combo outside, but went with black kaleido on sport seats. It looks very sharp since I've checkered flagged the roof--- I would have been afraid to take the leap to the red- the back seat seems to be a rather large expanse of red. Thought when I replaced the car I would switch to Black outside/red inside... I've seen the red since, and really, when was the last time you saw ANY car with a red interior??? Its your car and I say take advantage of being able to individualize it, it would be a great conversation starter--there are pics in this thread and they look terrific, I would say go for it and enjoy it...

Long Beach said ours was the first in that color combo. It was there for a couple of days since I was out of town, and it generated a lot of interest!
