Interior/Exterior Aligning the projectors of the EBAY HALO lights
Aligning the projectors of the EBAY HALO lights
Seems that some people have mentioned this problem but just over look it..
I've not seen much talk about this in threads for the headlights, but has anyone found a fix for making the main beams of the ebay halo lights line up PROPERLY? Right out of the box and into the bonnet of my car, the beams are not only crossing, but also at an angle and one of them is higher than the other. It looks very cheap and "made in china" so I would like these to line up as perfectly as possible. If I'm missing a thread about this, I'm sorry, but after inspecting these so many times up close and even going through countless hours of unnecessary work and stress on these lights (don't mess with those 3 screws that adjust the high beams and lose the piece they hold INSIDE the headlight...that was a lot of fun) I am still left stumped. Help is appreciated in advance.
Also, unrelated, has anyone figured out why all these sets of headlights have drastically different colored halo rings? I see all these pictures of really blue halos... semi blue ones.. super white ones. Upon closer inspection of these LEDS they are not "plug and play" so it's hard for me to imagine how they are all so different. Different manufacturers? I think not... but I could be wrong. Same goes for my halo side lights (in the bumper, which I also have). Seems a lot of peoples' light all the way around out of the box and are a drastically different color than mine.. although I have switched my stock LEDS out of them and tried a few different kinds of bulbs and LEDS... I have stock orange bulbs in there now for a different look.

My beams cross too (thinking of Ghost Busters here...) and while the single adjuster makes for good vertical alignment, I can't figure out how to get lateral adjustment out of the same adjuster...duh! I was going to work on it this week--if I figure it out, I'll share for sure.
Thanks for your input. It's comforting to know I'm not the only one in this boat. When you say the single adjuster, you're talking about that weird gray looking screw with the foam washer underneath, right? I couldn't even figure out what that does and I have turned it a little but I am hesitant because I don't want to break something or worse off, make something go loose on the inside of the headlight that is unreachable.
My early instinct on this problem was that it's the actual fitment of the lights in/on the bonnet... as you can probably tell they don't exactly fit quite straight on the car so maybe that has something to do with it all together. Even if that WAS the case, I'm sure the company knows... because all the customers do... you'd think they'd put some fine tuning adjustments on these bad boys.

Yes, the big grey castellated nut with foamy washer seems to hold the only adjuster for the main beams. I made sure the big nut/foamy was tightened up (right hand thread) into the housing, then adjusted the lights with the 5mm hex bolt--but this only adjusts vertically. There should be a horizontal adjuster, but it's not obvious (haha), or it's absent.
I'll keep you posted.

I'll do it over the weekend, and post. I messed around with them today after work, but it was hot and humid (New Mexico -- weird!) and I didn't have much success...
It's all good. Weather was pretty weird in NJ today, too. I just put some new bulbs in (Osram Night Breakers) so after I mess with the vertical leveling on mine I will also post up some pictures.

uhh any updates on this? I want to know because I'm considering getting the HID Halo Projectors. I currently have stock 04's Halogens with PIAA H7 Xtreme bulbs. I like the look of the halos and the HID's is a +. If there's a way to adjust these I'm all over them.
The HID Halo projectors are not real HID projectors. They merely use an H7 HID conversion kit inside the halogen projector housing and label it as HID.
