European side mirrors

I am visiting my family in Belgium and I have just picked up Euro side mirrors for my wife's 08' MCS. They have coverage for the blind spots on both sides. I will post the pictures from installation and the comparison of the view once I get back.

Yes I do (do not remember which one is left/right):
51162755625
51162755626

Left
Before. Not much to see in the mirror.

After. Significant visibility improvement. Vertically as well, as far as I can see.

Right
Before. Slightly better visibility then in the left one.

After. Not sure if the picture shows this, but the right end (blind spot) is visible.

Installation is easy: pry the mirror insert out (take some time and courage to do it), disconnect the heating wires, and install new mirror insert.

My wife will do the test drive tomorrow, so I might post some updates.

Sweet! I hope these aren't too hard to get on this side. I have the euro spec mirrors on my Mercedes but haven't had much luck tracking down the part numbers for my MINI.

One more thing: they are NOT blue tinted. This is just a white balance after dark...

If you will not find them here - let me know. I might be able to ask my relatives to get me few more pairs...

I'm not sure if these are the same, but I saw something like this (multiVex) in Moss Motors for about $34/ea ($68/pr)...Having driven a bit in europe, I was very tempted to buy these.

Also, looks like these are made to just stick on top of existing mirrors.

Yes, I saw them. But I wanted the OEM solution. I really wish these could be ordered from the factory...

I had a pair of MultiVex mirrors on my 2007 MCS. I sent MultiVex tracings of my mirrors. I think I got the first pair for an R56. Broke one in a recent accident. Need to get it replaced.

I like them. I was really nervous about blind spots with the USA OEM mirrors, but the MultiVex covered much better. Don't depend on them to gauge distance because they are intentionally asymmetrical. The scale of the image in the center of the mirror will be different than the edges. The edges are more distorted. You can get an approximate idea of where the object is by its location in the mirror if you keep them adjusted a specific way.

I adjust them as is recommended for standard mirrors. For the driver-side, put your head against the window and adjust the mirror so you can just see the side of the car. When your head is in the normal driving position you can't see side of the car, nor is it very good for seeing a long way back, but a car on your left will be coming into your peripheral vision before it vanishes from the mirror. I figure it is more important to see that pickup that is right next to me, rather than 20 car-lengths behind me. The inside mirror will do for that.

For the passenger-side, put your head above the eBrake handle and adjust as you did for the driver-side.

The European OEM would be great, but at $260 per pair, plus shipping from Europe, I think I'll order from Moss.

The MultiVex attach to the OEM mirrors with 3M double-stick foam tape in two places. Clean the mirrors well, especially if you have used RainX or Hydro on them, and they should hold fine. Supposedly, the heat from heated mirrors with warm them. I'm in coastal California and never had a chance to test it.

Yes.

I am looking for the source in US. The price would be around $200 shipped if there is a group of people interested.

if it helps we get the 'euro' versions here in Australia it seems we recently updated laws because only in the last few years has this filtered down in cars we get here.

not sure if it helps because mini is a smaller and considered a premium brand here but if dealers here ship it might be cheaper given the AUD is less than the USD where as GBP is more than the USD.
