Interior/Exterior least parts changed to fit aero front bar
least parts changed to fit aero front bar
First time poster (that i can remember), first off the search thing when you type a new thread is a brilliant idea, been a regular on other forums that could really use that.
Anyway, i fiancee had a little run in with the back of a large sedan on our then new mini cooper S going through a good pannel shop (friend works there) i am able to change parts provided i pay the difference between fixing to stock and upgrading.
So i want to put the JCW aero front bar on as i dislike the area around the foglights on the stock front bar. I have got the print out but bmw are being a touch gaurded and dont really want to help me since they figure i will get the shop to buy the parts rather than buy them direct at retail. I want to know what is the minimum number of parts i can change to get the car back on the road since i dont have the cash to change the whole car over at the moment?
In the attachment i have the exploded diagram the numbers circled are the screw types the numbers not circled are parts type.
1 Bar cover - Need to change (dur)
2 Tow point cover - can use existing?
3 No reference to what this is? some type of wind deflector? do i need this?
4 Chin Spoiler/Front Lip - Is this different? If i change this will it still fit my MCS wheel arch?
5 Fog light suround - need to change
6 - lower air dam - need to change
7 - upper air dam - is this grill/mesh pattern different between MCS and Aero setups? i will change if this is the case
8 - Upper air dam surround top - Can use existing?
9 - Upper air dam surround bot - Can use existing?
So any help i noticed allot of people have changed over here but its hard to tell from pics which parts will fit/have to be changed. thanks for any help in advanced.

1. yes this is a new part
2. no, stock is square, JCW is round
3. i dont think you need it, maybe it does something other than rub on eveything
4.yes this new part will only fit the JCw bumper, and it will still fit the stock wheel arch.
5. yes that changes
6. yes this will only fit new bumper
7. dont HAVE to change, but the mesh will be different top and bottom.
8. use existing
9. use existing
there is also an air temperature sensor clip that clips on the inside of the mesh... its not in the exploded parts list. i dont know how you'd find that part.
