I didn't say they were the same I said they were similar....

the argument I was making was that in both cases something was purchase. And there was the ability to write it of as a tax deduction....

In my case the donated electronics granted a certificate from Salvation army allowing me to write off the face value of the component I purchased.

In PU's case the chosen charity would grant me a certificate for the PU Component I purchased.

I'm sure there could have been a possible way for this to work.
