Whos MINI is this?
Where can I get these clear reflectors?
I like the tint that makes tham black....but these look cool
and they are functional.

 

Thats Ryan Z's mini aka red03minis (sp?) and yes they look cool. He did them himself I think.

 

And to this day, he wont tell us how.

 

Well, that stinks.
But I think he is on to something.
I will think about trying to make my own as well.
I can have some cut by a freids shop who has a lazer cutter.

They look very cool!

He could make a few $$$$$ if he wanted.

actually its not that i wouldnt tell anybody

i TOLD everybody at the meet how to do them

its really hard to explain unless in person. i set up everything for a how to, got part #s and everything, went to borrow my friends digi cam, for a hands on demosntration, and his camera didnt have battery

so that set me back about another 2 weeks

if someone in so cal wants to loan me the digi cam, i can tell you guys how to do it

please refrain from making accusations without basis

minimac--yes i could make money if i wanted. but thats not my goal. i have enough $$. i wanted to help other miniacs do the mod. but i am too cheap to buy a digi cam, thus i have been unalbe to really help

directions wtihout pics on such a mod is useless.

it took me about 4.5 hours to do, as i am very meticulous

i wanted to be diff and as far as i know, i am th eonly one in the US with the mod :smile:

You're good with words. Try to give us a little explanation, even without pictures. I'm guessing you got a sheet of some plastic like they use to cover florescent ceiling lights, cut and dremelled it into shape. I've already replaced one rear reflector after an accident and there's not much to the piece.

 

I can't wait to hear more about these clear side reflectors. They look so awesome!!!! I REALLY WANT THEM! I'm going to ask my friend to try and make me some since he has a laser cutter...will look into it tomorrow! Yeah!

red03minis, great job! Sorry to copy your idea...but at least I'm way out in Hawaii! When mine are done and installed, If people ask me about it...I'll be sure to mention you as the mastermind behind the whole engineering idea!
