new tow hook

Hello.

There are lots of tow hooks out there; I should know, I’ve looked at a lot them! This one was new to me and I decided it was definitely going to be my hook of choice. Might as well get pulled out of the kitty litter in style.

I’ve just installed one front and back on my Cooper S. It’s an easy install. While not cheap at $99 per, they are stainless, very sturdy and nicely made. I got them from a company that has race-proven them on Porsches and is apparently just starting to offer products to the MINI community: www.rennline.com

Here’s a couple of pics for your enjoyment (if you are into tow hooks).

Cheers,

Stephan

I was just looking at their pedals and am going to order the Adjustable Lifter Plate tomorrow. It's so hard to heal/toe in a MINI since the brake and gas are on such different planes.

That looks excellent. In fact I think it's one of the best tow hooks I've seen. Maybe my next purchase.

Tow hook looks cool, stainless is sweet.

Gnatster, are you going to try and use the extender with the stock pedals or do you have an after market set? If they work with the stock pedals then I will order one to.

That hook has some heft to it. Nice looking, I too will be looking into that piece in the future. Thanks for posting.

I'm going to give them a ring tomorrow, I have a few ideas.

One is to use the extender with the current Ultimate Pedals I have. Also for a MINI race car I'm going to get the extender and the pedals with those neato red attachments and we'll experiment there. Lastly I've ordered a new Pedal Assembly from MINI and am going to get the fully adjustable replacement Porsche 911 pedal and try and graft them together.

I'm also going to ask about a possible Track Mat they have for a MINI, thats a really slick aluminum pan used to replace the floor mat.

All good ideas on the pedals! Look forward to the results of your testing!

Rennline Pedal sets

Rennline pedal sets are works of art: http://www.rennline.com/newssection.asp?dept=538

Since I need all the help I can get to heel and toe, I've been waiting impatiently for their MINI pedals to become available. Like gnatster, I hope Paul produces the beautiful aluminum floor inserts for the MINI, and soon!

For my style of 'heel-toe' the pedals are in the perfect place. I use half my foot on the brake and roll the other half onto the gas when needed. This doesn't even use my heel at all. I'm planning on makeing a video of this, to show others how I learned it.

Very nice looking stuff but I'm not a big fan of the rubber bumps…

Not that I know of, just unsure of my departure date or return date. I may swing by SoCal on the way to/from Vegas and I'd rather not leave a package sitting at the door.

MINI is actually one of the easiest to do it on.
