I still don't understand why people like the GP wing better. It's a design mess. It has no visual flow like those spoilers every one had tacked to their cars in the 90's. The ARQRAY one is a much cleaner design. Smooth & flows with the whole car's lines.

Either way, I don't have $1000+ to be spending on a spoiler so I guess I'm just pontificating…

Well that never happens on this site to cut it out.

not sure what the conversion rates are to Kuwait, but i've already stated that the components for the spoiler are $1600, and you think cost the new notched glass, removal of the old glass, removal of the rear wiper motor and sprayer, and reinstallation of the new glass is ONLY $400? sorry, but it isn't.... take it from someone who paid for the rear glass to be removed from the stock hatch and reinstalled on a carbon fiber one, it is much greater than $400....

now, if you don't like the looks, that's fine! i get that, it isn't for everyone, because if it were, there would be a steady production of them from ARQRAY and the price would be cheaper!

You dont need the notched glass, just some spacers to clear the existing glass for the GP spoiler.

I think the Arqray one would be real nice if the side bits were not so fat.

it must be getting close to Halloween, because it is SCARY that there is still the other ARQRAY spoiler for sale!!!

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ct/1693/cat/54

i know a lot of people were looking to spend under $1000 for this thing, and when it hit NAM it was $1400.... some explanation why, mainly due to me hyping it up for it being list on their site for $889.... FIRST, some Marketing 101 - supply and demand - ARQRAY sold us their last two spoilers with the intention on us being able to supply a demand for more of them! if we can get rid of those two (one of which resides on my car presently), they will make more.... until then, their production on the spoilers is OVER - this will be the last one available! considering there was so much discussion over these wings on this thread, i figured it wasn't all talk, that many of you actually wanted to buy it! good thing we didn't arrange for them to make 3 more as we initially planned on........

point is, Eddie at 1FastMINI isn't going to continue ordering from ARQRAY due to the current status of the sale.... and therefore, you aren't going to be able to secure the spot for this spoiler, as they just aren't going to make any more of them! i'm no salesman, i've managed four motorsport-related businesses in my time, but never being the guy on the phone with customers because i'm not here to BS anyone - the fact is we worked out deal with ARQRAY to get their last two spoilers, and this is the price, now lowered to $1200......

now, why did it go up from $889 as it's listed on ARQRAY's website? a number of things.... shipping for the two boxes was almost $600, which i gladly ate half of..... we then had the end caps painted gloss black, another $120 for each set.... ROUGHLY, there's $1300 right there - and again, the price has been lowered to $1200! so thinking that you could obtain one of these at the $889 price listed online isn't correct, not in these times!

i hope that clears up any confusion.... REMEMBER!!! the GP spoiler is $1600 for parts ALONE! you're not going to find anything close it for anywhere near the price of the ARQRAY.... take it from someone who has one on their car in North America, anyone who has seen this thing LOVES it, even Ian with the GP (GBMINI)!

For those of you that still want a GP style spoiler you're in luck. Think Mini in the UK will be introducing one soon. Even better for you guys, as the exchange rate is more in your favour now.

Let them know what you want. I'm personally after an all-fibreglass one.

Prototype of the thinkmini gp replica spoiler. Fits standard boot lids from the looks of things. Looks like I will finally get what I have been after for ages!

Very nice!! Please post more info/pics when you can. Thanks.

BTW...you guys got a GP warehouse over there? Another one with GP bumpers...or are those just the inserts? I just noticed the center spoiler isn't flared back.

He has the inserts. The GP rear bumper is just a standard bumper with inserts and different outer trim. I have the outer trim on mine, but not the inserts.

I havent seen the spoiler myself yet, so I'm hoping its still there when I go over on Wednesday. I'm not sure if it is flared back or not. Hard to tell from the pic.

Sorry for the confusion...I meant the center spoiler/black plastic trim on the bumper...as you already know, the GP one is flared back with a subtle lip that the car pictured doesn't have.

If the car is still there on Wednesday, be sure to get more pics. Thanks.

Not my car. Its one of the owners of thinkmini. I think he got them from BMW parts.

Ahh, yeah, but the car isnt a GP, it just has a GP replica spoiler and the GP inserts.

thank you for posting them, glad to see pics to back up the post! so there are now TWO MINIs in North America with ARQRAY wings, who's going to be the third?

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=155004

the LAST ARQRAY spoiler they will ever make is still for sale with potential buyer currently lined up.... but, as they say, money talks - first come, first served!

I do not believe this to be correct. The spoiler clamps around the window and the boot frame then bolts to the inner frame. there would not be any flex if trying to spread the width of the support brackets.. here are some picts... sorry they are taken in low light pardon my dust,, she hasnt been driven in a while..

interesting.. I can only imagine the stress being put on the center section. unless they did more moding than is visable in the picture. But cool that it worked.

HHmm , now to think of it, I should put one on my clubman.. That would be unique.. just to to figure how to get it to split in the center

Next time I am over at ThinkMini I'll ask them if it would be posible. I imagine they could use the existing centre sections they have made for the R53 GP replica, and different side supports possibly.

any idea on the pricing for the GP replica yet? I know its not in production yet but a ballpark figure would be nice.
BTW, I spoke with Arqray and they DO have that spoiler still available( not many though). I have one on hold for myself, just trying to sort out shipping since I'm in Kuwait and I don't want to get hit in the head by Kuwaiti customs taxes
