I dont know why you would need to notch the glass. I have seen a GP spoiler fitted to a standard boot lid and with the standard glass.

I cant see any different between it mounted on the GP, and it mounted on the standard boot lid.

just to keep everyone updated on the progress........

we have been talking to ARQRAY and their distributors who claim they can get it into the U.S. for us, despite the fact that ARQRAY themselves have stated the spoiler is no longer in production.... quite "fishy" considering they all want the cash upfront to get the group buy started, which means they enjoy taking people's money, sitting on it for a while, then claiming it was ARQRAY's fault for not completing production - this isn't my first time importing something from the other end of the world, but these companies don't know me from Adam, so why wouldn't they try to scam me, right? haha

don't lose hope yet, we're attempting to find out how many spoilers that the NAM-registered vendor would need to purchase upfront to get them to start production up again for them..... if it isn't something ridiculous like 15 or more, the vendor is considering doing all the legwork, pre-purchasing them, and then selling them in the U.S. for us MINIacs.....

keep in mind that the price is going to be NORTH of $889, unlike what other's have been talking about on here getting it near the $700 range - the reason for that is because every distributor i've talked to already regarding the purchase has said they could get it for a MINIMUM of $950, some all the way up to $1350!!!! funny how they want to charge that price without knowing as much about ARQRAY as we do - they don't currently make them right now!!! so regardless, by the time the deal is done DIRECTLY with the manufacturer to create a bunch of discontinued products specifically for NAM members in this group buy, there is no way it will be as cheap as the MSRP listed price of 95,000 JPY, or $889 USD, sorry!

still working on getting more pictures, but like i've been saying, for those who say they have an ARQRAY spoiler here in the U.S., post pics of it! if it isn't installed, so what, show everyone what the underside of it looks like, what is included in the box as far as hardware goes, etc..... inquiring minds want to know!

Now if ya'll want to start an escrow fund where the monies are deposited and not touched until we hit the amount needed to go into production we can do that.

I don't know how I missed this, but man that sucks. I mean, I can completely see why it is so much and can understand all of the pros/cons of producing this...Man it is just too bad that this did not get off the ground. I guess that Mini knew what they were doing when they made sure that the general public would not be able to "easily" touch one of these.

the way i see it - you can't take the money or the car with you when you die, so mind as well enjoy both during your time on Earth! and no, the spoiler wasn't meant for everyone's taste, neither was the GP spoiler, which is why there are only 415 GP cars in the U.S. - not enough for everyone who wants one to have one, i suppose.....

if you knew what was spent in shipping to get them over here, you'd flip..... definitely NOT going the same route for future orders from ARQRAY, that's for sure!! i'll be absorbing a lot of the cost into the purchase of MY spoiler so the price won't be shot through the roof for the 2nd spoiler that will be for sale by the end of the week.... once my daily driver is back from the shop, i'll be dropping my car off for installation, the two end-pieces (black fiberglass molded units) will be getting painted, and the spoiler will be afixed to the vehicle....

more pics will be coming soon!!!

When you post the next batch of pics Mike, can you include a shot of the side profile of the car with spoiler installed.

i've had a bunch of PMs with members asking about pricing on the other spoiler we received...... the set of "end caps" for the ARQRAY spoiler are in the paint shop now getting a deep gloss black and clearcoat job, then i'm applying my own vinyl graphics on the side of them, and i'll have pricing by the end of next week!

i've developed two styles of lettering on the side of the spoiler, since they didn't send the graphic pictured in the stock photo on their website - one that reads AERO in big letters and ARQRAY DESIGN below it, high contrast white, just like the photo shows, and the other one (my favorite) is their subtitle description of the company in Japanese-Engrish with the ARQRAY logo below it.... the description states "There are confidence and techology equal to or more than 30." which is SO classic of terrible Japanese to English translators, hahah.... i'm putting both decals on my car, one on each side, and take pictures with it installed for you to choose which one you want!

EDIT- so everyone knows, _I_ won't be selling the spoiler, a registered vendor on NAM will be.... he has both spoilers in his possession and will be installing the first one on my car next week, thanks!

the ARQRAY spoiler has been installed, and the NAM vendor has all the information (including pricing!) for the remaining spoiler....... he will be posting it up when he has the time, busy weekend for us here in Central Florida with Mickey & MINI 4 going on right now, but for those of you unable to attend, please check out the REST of the pictures, including side profile shots and adjustable wing positioning pictures showing all three angles of attack on the ARQRAY wing! ENJOY!

please read the whole thread before making comments like that...... the parts ALONE for the GP wing are $1600, then you have to buy the special notched glass, then have it installed, totaling around $3000!!! so considering the amount of work involved in Eddie at 1FastMINI and i getting these two spoilers in from ARQRAY in Japan, having the end caps painted gloss black, $1400 is definitely a reasonable price for such a unique piece that, to date, has yet to reach the states!

for those who haven't seen the one last remaining spoiler for sale:
