The stock rear window is NOT nothced to accommodate the GP spoiler. The prototype is a spoiler/window unit.

So...the glass is replaced??? Or the spoiler does not affect the glass...it looks like it went around the glass and attached with out causing issues...

Where the Spolier bolts in, is where the glass needs to be notched.
This does look dead sexy!

The prototype had the rear glass replaced.

After seeing how the OEM GP wing is mounted it makes sense that the glass needs to be notched for support. I don't believe there's any way for the stock rear window to be notched to support the wing, so it seems like a replacement will need to happen.

yes, that's GP rear glass (easier to get the glass than the actual spoiler).

I see Jan owes me some stickers

Damn that gnatster..whens he getting back to TX?

Oh wait, this is me, I'm at Danny's shop right now. Brought the wrong laptop charger with me to AMVIV. Spending a few days in SoCal.

Answers to questions above.

Pricing, I have no idea yet. While in Cali I've been shopping around for someplace to build it from the prototype I have. Some very promising leads have developed and once I have a pricve I'll post.

Rear Glass, yesh, a new rear glass is required. The wing will come with a new rear glass.

Thats all for now...more when I get back to TX.

Nathan

What ever you do don't go in that toilet room outside the shop. I have heard stories of people never coming out of that thing

This was quite a surprise for me today and I really enjoyed talking with Gnatster (car looks phenomenal by the way!!!!!). All I will say is that the following pics are of a PROTOTYPE UNIT done by a "company in Texas. This is by no means a final representation of what will actually be produced. But I think this answers a lot of questions. I was really surprised by the glass. I didn't realize that the glass needed to be notched, but it makes sense after seeing the construction. Also note the lack of a rear window wiper. Looks so clean.

Again...fantastic looking spoiler for being a prototype. I hope the production model comes out soon. But one thing's for sure, there's definitely a GP style spoiler in our future. YEAH! On to the pics:

After seeing this at AMVIV in person (Hey, that red car with the hood open looks familiar), I was extremely impressed. Knowing it's just a proto makes it even moreso. Fantastic work!

Gnatsters car is scary sick, too. Wow.

I'm back in TX.

Some contacts have been made with 1st class fabricators in the SoCal area for a small production run, I'm thinking 10-15 to start. Adjustability has been discussed but it would cause a major redesign as there is not much room to bring the rear edge much higher then it currently is. The concept of making itadjustable is still on the table so don't totally discount that yet.

Here is what I'm thinking...

All parts would be finished in a black gel coat ready for install. It could be painted if desired by the end user. Before ya'll jump on getting it made of Carbon Fiber remember the intent is to be affordable.

Included would be the Wing (of course), the rear glass, plugs for the roof and hardware to mount.

Until I get back all the quotes I cannot and will not speculate on a final price.

Thanks for all the kind words, this has been a lot of work just to get to this point.

Thanks go to Duck360198 for taking and posting the pics.

Only 10-15!?!? Where does the line start?? Thats the kind of line I jump on b4 pricing is released. For a wing like this, price is less important than getting what I want

Can i be numero Uno??

The glass needs to be notched out to accommodate the spoiler. As this is highly expensive and difficult to do, the glass is simply replaced with the "Pre-Notched" GP Glass. You WILL lose your rear wiper by doing this.
