air bag error after seat removal

I removed the passenger seat from my 2007 MCS. There's only one connector and it's realy easy to remove with the slider/lock mechanism. Once I put the seat back in, I started getting the air bag icon. It shows an error code of CC-ID 097. Does anyone know how to clear this?

I think you need to get that cleared at the dealer.

Did you put the key in or start it up with the wire disconnected?
Before installing my Sirius radio antenna, I read not to use any power with the seat out/disconnected or errors will occur. If this is the case, I think you're headed back to the dealer.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Is it possible to use a Scangauge or similar tool to clear this type code?

If anyone works on their seats, make sure that you disconnect the battery. You will not get the alarm then. In your case bring it to the dealer for reset. I would be careful about buying any reset tool, even though it says BMW, until proven so specifically for R56 MINI, as Mini has some unique electronic stuff devoted to itself.

I bought the AutoEnginuity tool specifically for this (with plans to use elsewhere as well), and it does NOT support the R56 (other than generic OBDII), even with the new release (March 2008). It does work on the BMW's, so I would guess that others that say BMW will also not work on the R56. Anybody know of anything different that does work (besides the 60+ mile drive to the dealer)?

I had to take my car in to get this cleared. The dealer charged me $120!

Grrrr.
