Yes that bottom bolt. Did you have to remove the finder to get at it. If so how the hell did you get it off?

I got my car back today and WOW what a difference the lights look!!

I'm not sure if anyone on here has Astro with Astro Joey mod. I took some pictures, but it was dark by the time they had everything back together. I HIGHLY SUGGEST ANYONE IN THE CT/NY AREA TO GO TO MY WAY AUTO BODY IN STAMFORD, CT FOR PAINT SERVICE! MIKE AND TJ RUN A CLASSY BUSINESS.

Here are some pictures...better ones for sure tomorrow...

Better ones tomorrow!!

Emblems and lights they didn't do yet. I'm bringing it back next week for that....before my RMW tune

Certainly people! As soon as I wake up tomorrow...trust me, I want to see it too!

Just in case anyone is wondering...they used Astro Black and Chili Red for the paint, the paint was from MINI and they used professional spray guns to do the work. They also sanded and did everything right to ensure no chipping or bubbling. Like I said, this place has done all my paint and they did not give me any reason to go some place else, they are awesome!

Any Astro car looking to do this...I highly recommend using Astro paint instead of flat, gloss, or matte paint that everyone else uses...it blends to flawlessly with the car and gives it an awesome look.

Stay tuned!

No didn't need to remove the fender (that pic was when the dealer had to replace my bad catalytic converter)

I was able to wrench that little bolt and it came out. Make sure you are wrenching that small hex bolt thats on top (horizontally) of the washer. The bigger bolt that is behind the washer you could spin all day and never come off because that is an adjustment bolt

Okay, I worked all day to clean the car and the front end for pictures. I went to work with my Nikon and went to go take some shots...only to find I forgot my SD card!!

Unfortunately for me, I get out at 11pm and by then, as you all know, it is dark. So, at home tomorrow, I'll take some shots. Pray it doesn't rain!!

you convinced the 10% of me that was doubtfull on which color to do the joey mod.
im gona do it DS chrome housing and not sure if flat black or glossy black for the projector ring.

the chrome housing painted the same color as the car makes it look stock and nice, my uncle has Dupont shops and im thinking of getting my paint from them but im not sure if it will match 100% to the original MINI paint.
what do you guys say?
as for the prep etc... can you be more specific? i plan on DIY in the next weekend

Glad you like it! The DS is a great color for the joey, I think it will look great. As for paint, I didn't do it, but I used facotry MINI paint form the local MINI service building. Higher priced, but identical. Other places sell the colors, but if your going to do the ring in black, make sure it matches your trim or it will look out of place IMO. Hope somone can help you with the prep...check the earlier pages of this thread, it will give more detail.

^definitely looks great with the astro-black... i think it's something that'd go great on a dark car. Not sure it'd look good with my laser blue unfortunately.

get some day pics even if it's a little dirty and wet. it's always more fun that way anyway.

Okay here are some pictures during the day...

The reason for the passenger side shots was the sun was killing the other side of the car...I'll try and get some full on ones today...

Nice joey mod dtsoccer! Really simplifies the car when the rings and headlights are the same color as the paint.

just got my 1/2 liter of DS paint from my cousin.
Its dupont Chroma One series P1313 + a little bit of blue and idk what to match my car perfectly.

my cousin told me to sand, then primer, then paint for optimum results.

will post pics and maybe vids later.

How much do you think it would cost to get this done? And what kind of shop could I take it to?

Ok I've got the halogens here.

Is the consensus to sand, prime, and use the krylon fusion?

Will any primer do?

I'm hoping it stops raining in NY sometime in July so I can get this done.......June up here has been nothing but wet.
