Need iPod cradle

anyone know where I can get a good ipod cradle that will firmly attach into the MCS?

currently, I'm using an older belkin cup holder cradle (wired my blitzsafe device up thru the center console) so I have it in the big cup holder that attaches next to the glove box. the cradle is too big to fit the cup holders under the center console. problem having cradle in big cup holder is that if i place it in there where it sits snug-i can't actually see the ipod screen. if i angle it so i can see the screen, then the whole device flies out if i'm driving in a spirited way.

on craven's website, if you look at the pix for their short shifter, they show a cradle that attaches where that big cup holder attaches, but it's not the same one that they sell on their website.

give me your ideas or attach pix of what you're doing with your ipod. thanx

I've got a Belkin cup cradle that fits in the center console - that's where my ipod resides now.

Check my gallery for a unique solution. I am happy to provide additional details via PM if needed. This is the cleanest, most factory install for the ipod I could think of, borrowing a few ideas, and keeps things out of sight from wandering eyes.

rowland - u using new belkin with smaller cradle insert? i don't have that, so might be simplest, least expensive solution - buy new one.

amorican - your idea looks very good and is definitely theft safe - but, with the blitzsafe device, the ipod connects thru the cd changer connex in the rear of the car. song selection, etc is controlled via the ipod, so it needs to be visible to me.

coop-310 - wow! that's awesome! I definitely like the cradle integration into the cup holder - it's clean and i'm sure it's very secure. however, i don't need the ice unit, just a cradle as i have the blitzsafe. your price is great, but i don't want to spend $150 right now (that's a new pulley or something else to make the car scoot fastr). good luck selling it though - shouldn't be too hard.

I did something similar to Coop310 yesterday. I drilled a hole in the side of the small front passenger side cupholder and routed the adapter cable down through it. I have to do some work on my standard dock to make it fit in there, but it's going to work. Didn't cost me a penny.

I got it used off ebay, but it definitely fits.
It looks like the smallest one here (just the bottom part on the right):

IMO, Craven Speed's is the ONLY way to go. Puts the iPod right behind the steering wheel, in fingertip reach without distraction to reach it anywhere out of sight (such as lower on the center console). Check it out.

The only problem is for those with gauges installed, otherwise it is a nice addition. Craven does nice work.

I really like the Craven products, but the price is completely absurd. $64 just for an iPod cradle (and that does NOT include the mount)?

Any others you guys/gals would recommend? I've used Proclip in the past which was okay but looking for other alternatives.

Somebody did a DIY cradle a while back, and it looked really nice. I am too lazy to hunt for it but somebody will drum it up for you.
