Painting control arms on M7 Splitter

I know this was discussed somewhere either on here or Mini2 but can't seem to find anything regarding it. Wondering if it's possible to paint/powdercoat the control arms on the M7 splitter? If you have done so, can you please post pics.

My wife refuses to allow me to buy it unless the arms are paintable as she feels the arms appear to be a slight afterthought

My understanding is that the turnbuckles are not req'd. You could install it without the arms.

powder coating would be cool, but it would throw off the tolerances for the bolts and nuts. so you would need to either sand blast or grind some off so they could fit.

But I love the idea, keeps to my black out theme.

Might also want to search for hardware that is already in the colour you desire. You might want to look towards the marine or Radio Controled industry for these types of hardware.

Another idea is to rough up the smooth parts, mask the area and rattle can paint the hardware once in place. This may need to repeated often as thats an area that is in harms way to a lot of debris.

Anything can be painted...

but the "afterthough" look isn't that at all, the turnbuckles provide adjustability (that no street driver will ever need) but that's another issue indeed.

Gnatster has it right, paint or get some that are already the color you want.

I thought the M7 splitter was actually just bolted to the bottom of the front lip and it really doesn't have any adjustability. The turnbuckles were just added for looks.

Turn the buckle, and it bends. No way it can't. Whether it's needed, I have no clue.

I knew it would bend, I just didn't think that it was designed to be adjustable.

It is bolted to the bottom of the bumper cover along the back of the splitter. Adjusting the turnbuckle moves the leading edge up or down a little. Mostly it allows one to adjust it so that it's level.
