Sound Deadning

Has anyone done any significant sound deadening to a Mini?

This is an interesting read

I used the B-Quiet extreme. I only ended up using about 80 square feet total.

The biggest difference was when I did the doors. Under the carpet, the foam base is really thick, so I did less in those areas as it would be minimal gain.

I did the door surround, the body panel through the oval, you will see when the door card is off, as well as the back side of the door card. That is like double layers there since I hit both surfaces.

It is not totally quiet due to the windows and the sun roof, but it made a huge difference in the road noise and gravel sounds while on the highway. And the car doors feel really solid when they close, THUD!!! Audio was greatly improved as well, and that is just with the stock system.

30-40 lbs. I have more extra baggage around my gut than that

unless you are racing, who cares about the few extra pounds?

I just changed over to non run flats and it reduced my noise level from the rear tires pretty significantly. I think later this month I am going to do the doors, and I want to use (I cant remember the name off the top of my head) But it is a thin paint on sound deadener that you can use like an undercoating on the outside or inside. I plan on using it in the wheel wells and under the floorpans. Later I want to do the hatch area on the inside
