Ok, first I'm not sure if this should be here or in the Electrical section, just let me know if I screwed up but what I'd really like to do is order a new 2007 mini cooper s (non convertible) with the chrono gauge package and the dealer says this is just not going to happen, that it's only available on a new convertible, not the hardtop.
My question then is, since I hate the huge speedometer is, can I find this aftermarket and get a new mini updated with the chrono gauge package? And if so, where? I've tried to search for it with zero success.
Good luck with your quest - hope you find something. That is my biggest disappointment with the '07. After driving my wife's '05 with the center speedo, I ordered my '06 with the chrono package. I sure hope that MINI offers a chrono package on the Clubman (although I doubt it since I am sure that this was removed to keep manufacturing costs down).
If it's appearance you are looking for, I suspect more options will be coming to market. But, I doubt they will have anything to do with the center speedo. If it's information you want, you can plug in a ScanGauge II to the OBDC. The unit fits perfectly in the "cubby" at the bottom of the stack and gives an assortment of gauge options and backlight colors.
No, but web search it. Unfortunately, it doesn't have oil temp. Does have water temp, air temp, boost (MAP), engine load, etc. Plus code identification and resets.
I can't believe so many people hate the GIANT center speedo. I <3 the friggin' gianormous speedo. I think it's quirky. What other car on Earth has a speedo that big??? It rules!

I can't believe on a car renown for personalization options, one can no longer order a chrono package to have a proper speedometer in front of you. I am really looking forward to the Clubman and am fervently hoping that the chrono package reappears. I also don't believe spending $2100 for the NAV is an acceptable fix (the chrono pkg was $300). I think this one little option would help fix probably the one major issue that quite a few folks have with the R56. More options are always better!
