bigcat68 and rederik... I'm loving your you-nique stripes! The whole thread is pretty darned awesome.

Here's some pictures of Daphne and her stripes from CooperFlags. We prefer to call those on the boot her tramp stamp!

I'm going to bet they're decals. Mine are reflective, too - same kind of material used in on school busses, traffic signs, etc. It's stiffer than the normal vinyl, but it's GREAT stuff!! Most vinyl guys can get it for you in just about any color, but only some colors have the protective overcoating. Not sure about Squirlz, but my guy is out of NC and ships - N2MINI here on NAM and the Tar Heels MINI Club site. He did my friend's stripes in black reflective (we put them on) and did a really sweet design in the same material for her mirror caps (second picture below.) Her stripes and decoration show up in bronze when lit up.

No, they're 3M vinyl. There was a private seller who made a total of about 10 sets a few years ago.

I tried to make my own up (unsuccessfully), well, they were successful in the sense they got done, just didn't achieve the look I wanted.

I finally gave in and bought some.

Made these....

Seriously, there are tons of good looking minis which I'd like to think mine was one of them.

And then, there are about a dozen REALLY COOL looking minis that are done right and your's is right there.

It's very tastefully done with just the right mods. The satin black stripes, the JCW wing.... it just looks perfect IMO.

I like 'em, especially with the blackout you've done - it looks more complete, I guess. The "test" stripes looked like they were faded, and kind of off-set the blackout wrong. Good job! Although, what was your reasoning for not going all the way down with the stripes? Either way, cool stuff.

Thanks Sarah, yeah, the "test" stripes didn't quite cut it. As far as the stripes going down all the way, to me, the car is too narrow to make viper style stripes go all the way down.

It makes the car look "long in the face" IMO.

These are 3M Matte black stripes.
I am guessing they are available via 3m dealers in North America...
I got mine in Toronto.
Cheers

About a third of the way down. They call them "Challenged" side stripes

Can someone who has these spaced spin bonnet stripes tell me if it is just 1 stripe with transparent parts (to let show the colour of the panel body) or 3 separate stripes (1 central big and 2 side little stripes all glued in a parallel direction) ?

Here are some shots of my color changing viper stripes (old and new pics). Apologize for the poor pic quality. Some better ones in my gallery

These are three separate stripes. And I wouldn't say "glued" really...they're sticky vinyl. If you're doing it yourself, you've just got to be meticulous about spacing and measurements, and use the soapy water liberally (to help position the stripes before letting it stick.)
