Where to buy car wax and stuff?

--Spent this past saturday afternoon detailing my Mini with my brother and my friend Deanna. Went looking for car wax and detailing products but was pretty dissapointed at checkers and at the few stores I stopped by. Does anyone know where they sell the good stuff? I'm looking for expensive waxes, long deep wheel brushes, and THE best cleaning and waxing products.

I keep hearing about Meguiars NXT Next generation tech wax. Anyone know if they sell that on the island. Also is Meguiars better than Zaino? Zaino seems to be widely available on the island but I hear the NXT stuff can last up to 3 months.

Also I've been looking for Wheel Wax. Stuff that's supposed to negatively charge the wheel surface and repel brake dust. Goodness my white wheels are now reverse oreos. They're white where we could reach them but black deep inside where we couldn't. Eeek Why did I have to get white wheels!!!

Oh and btw I tried that Mr. Clean auto dry stuff and Ah it's ok. It filters the water and shoots it onto your car differently so there are not so many water spots or streaks, but it doesn't dry like the commercial. It DOES pressurize the water coming out for rinse cycle really good though. It also mixes your soap with the water too so a bucket isn't really necessary. The soap it comes with is kinda weak so I'll try putting in other brands of soap in it and see if it works or clogs. Neat but I'm not sure it's worth $30. There's a nice "PRO" kit that comes with a carrying case and brushes and sponges but that one is $50. I think I got the better deal. If nothing else HALO fans will enjoy how the spray device feels. It looks and feels like an Alien pulse rifle. Needless to say I made alien noises and shot everyone with the high power rinse.

Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated on the original subject. It'll be fun driving around looking for the shops you guys suggest. Thanks in advance everyone.

There's a place in Aiea/Pearl City in Harbor Center? They are behind Cutter Ford and I believe the name of the place is Auto Chem Systems. They are distributor and are usually open to the public on Saturdays.

There is also a Zaino dealer here as Mini-T was able to get a group buy a couple years ago. For towels, keiki used to get GBs from Pakshak. However, Costco and Sam's carry high quality mf towels at very good prices.

Free shipping when you order two of their products. Get the Wheel Wax and the Wheel Wax Auto Shampoo to clean the wheels before applying the Wheel Wax.. Really works!

i like klasse all-in-one, although i've only used it like a few times since i've gotten my mini.

in-between washes, i use dri-wash-n-guard to keep away the water spots, especially on the bonnet and top.

got some zaino car shampoo from mini-t's group buy, and it works great.

the white wheels...you just gotta deal with it. not so sure if wheelwax really does anything more than some good polish and wax, which makes it easier to clean the brake dust off. otherwise, best bet is swap your brake pads. ebc greenstuff is wonderful for our white wheels.

yup...i know the owners of the PakShak and they're microfiber towers are AWESOME! Costco and Sams has pretty good mf towels too like beast says, but can't compare (IMHO) to the pakshak.

i'll try to see if I can bring some samples to the next meet. I don't need to do a group-buy to get towels from them for cheap.

I use meguiars and like it...i hardly wash my MINI, though...so what do I know!

Zaino vs. Meguiars...i think is a personal choice. Zaino it too time consuming for me...but the people that use it swear by it.

Mmmm microfiber

--I love the stuff. My friend in Maui told me about it a year ago but until I got my MINI I didn't have a real need for them. Now I love using microfiber stuff on my car. I bought a box set from the "As seen on TV" store at ward wareshouse for $12 I think. It has one good size one 24 x24 and two smaller ones 12 x 12 and one tiny 6 x6 for your shades. I also bought a microfiber mitten from Longs for the interior. It's pretty good. Then there was a sale on the window cleaner thing and it came with microfiber pads too. But I could always use more.

Well, gave this a try yesterday...and I must say it is really shiny and very mirrorish! can either hand app it or buff it... I hand app'd, let her dry and wiped it off.... very easy to remove, even on the trim...

I would recommend it.... like $16 at Napa...

here are a few pics, with no special effects or anything... that sparkle is hot! Also have an 18MB video for better seeing.... http://www.jackpipe.com/mini/mothersfx.avi (18mb - please right click and 'Save-As' to your desktop!)

Meguires NXT liquid wax is next, after this bottle is gone....
