I got a text message and a phone call from DaKineMINI if I saw the SCCA autox results. I didn't so I checked the page and WOW! MINIs kicked butt in Hawaii Region!

Props to Kohu. Maybe his tires were melting like the wicked witch of the west in the Wiz of Oz by the time the last two runs happened at the end of the day. Those cones fell at the worst time, I thought he was going to get a 57 second run. But it was not to be. That's the first time out for him in four months- he's liked a caged beast! Stock MC on stock rims and new race rubber. Impressive and amazing. Great fun watching. The fan club can start it's line in back of me.

The SM class MINIs are finally doing better after a very long learning process. Rome wasn't built in a day. A little luck doesn't hurt either. I do not know where that phantom cone came from and I'm sorry to hear about it because I know that baronius is a excellent driver.

As for my health. I wish I could say that my back feels as good as I might appear to look. Right now I can say that my back is stable and not getting worse. It is painful everyday but I make it through with my 6 to 8 pain pills. Thank goodness I had the sense to stop taking vioxx which is now off the market after it was found to increase risk of heart problems. I was only taking six times the normal dose for almost a year! Yikes. I'm still alive! I have been able to do quite a bit of activity but some things I have not returned to (running regularly) while others I do with restriction (jumping sports). I try not to lift things much heavier than about 30 pounds- this is a great excuse to look for really light race wheels/tires don't you think.

The surgery I had did fix the sciatica that was so horrible and it is now one year later. All I have to stop the problem from coming back is some scar tissue holding back my bulging disc. Will it hold up? No one knows but the disc isn't healthy and has lost nearly all of it's gel like quality. I've done other stuff as well, cut back work hours, I use a lumbar support for sitting, I try to get quite a bit more sleep regularly, and I have my own portable electrical accupuncture units to apply to my back and legs if I get worse.

Don't anybody else grow old and have this happen.

minihune -- yes, you look a lot healthier than you describe . i forgot you were taking all that vioxx. the recall is a huge nightmare for merck and its stock holders :(

hopefully more MINIs will begin racing...i always see others who just come and "watch." MINIs were made to autocross!

we need to find arioch -- he's got a nice set of race rubber that isn't being used!

Great to see Randy, Eric, Brad do so well. Can't tell you how much better my new AVON Tech R allow me to run. Congrats to Brad- finishing first in SM in a MINI- thats a real feat.

We do need to pass the word and get more MINI's out at events. Come out whether its autocross, SCCA track day (this Saurday) and or in my opinion the most fun the superlap/time attack (next event is 12/18). So far its only been Eric808 & I at superlap holding up the MINI tradition.
