I'm here. I still visit from time to time. I was even in Hawaii a few weeks ago looking at a few houses. Prices are ridiculous as the asking price of one house went up $50k overnight.

I am actually without my MINI Cooper S as it got rear ended by a drunk driver this past weekend. I wish I took pictures of it, since it looks like an accordion. I am in doubt that it will ever be fixed. I really do not want that car back as it looks so horrible. My car was parked in front of my house and it got smashed by a Denali. To make things worse, the vehicle in front of my MINI Cooper was a Lincoln Navigator. My poor little car got squashed like a bug.

Oh well, c'est a vie. Such is life! At least I will not have to worry about shipping the car to Hawaii and dealing with your local dealership and their horror stories.

Sorry to hear about your car. Lucky it was parked without passengers in it.

Things may be getting better at dealer. Many of us have had good experiences lately. I finally had to take my car in and was pleasantly surprised at how well things went based on what I had read in the past. Hope this was not a special case and things are only getting better!

I hear yah about house prices. Paper said surprisingly prices are still climbing! A house is being completed four houses down from us and the builder is asking $1.4 million for this six bedR, 4 bathR home (edit : forgot to mention this house was originally going to be offerred at $1.2 million - went up $200K because of current trend! ). Good luck house hunting! Took us four months!

Housing in Hawaii is NUTS! I can believe the $50k increase overnight as I looked at a house and it went up $40k overnight "due to market conditions". If you want a house that needs work, I have a fixer upper for $25M. You actually get 3 houses, 5 acres of waterfront property, 25 meter marble lined swimming pool, and a private boat harbor. Best of all it is fee simple! The houses are 3k under roof, 13k under roof and the last one is 18k under roof.

As for the MINI, I'm glad you were not in it as you most likely would have been injured. It would have been much worse if those SUVs were lifted. At that height they would decapitate someone.

The silver lining in this sow's blanket is you are free to purchase whatever you desire. I know you did not want to deal with Shelly, but their service has improved. If not, Fletcher Jones is here and their service is phenomenal! I have a friend who is one of the top salesmen there and I was looking at a Mercedes and I got to take it home overnight. It was fun as I drove it here, there and everywhere. It is supposed to be a backup car for my mom, but he knows she doesn't need another convertible and he lent it to me anyway!
