No, didn't cancel roadrunner but I did cancel Oceanic premium cable TV stuff to save money- no more cinemax and HBO! Saved enough there for almost a pulley install.

I think people have been busy with the holidays and not anything is really going on right now.

Cable television: I'm still analog as there's still one channel (fuzzy, not fuzzy, fuzzy, not fuzzy, fuzzy...) still dangling by a thread. Sure, it's not as spicy as before -- not even close -- but it's good enough. After the tower crumbles, I'll go digital (will then order Warrior football to boot). Gettin' me ?

Plug for RR... By the time one pays for extra phoneline + average dial-up they should just stick with RR for only $10/month extra. In my area RR is $50. Extra phone line is about $20 and dial-up is about $20.

I had to rely on dialup on a recent trip and it was SLLLOOOOWWWW. I could not believe it was so bad but it was. Horrible speed.

As long as I have ESPN and they carry the Warrior sports stuff-I'm fine with that. Cable reception is good. I went to the Hawaii Bowl against Houston- you missed a good one if you didn't go. 3 overtimes and a brawl later, Timmy Chang was the hero- as was Jason Rivers. Mostly we watch NBA games and discovery channel/monster garage.

>>A few of us have been active- Erik, Keikilee, The_Beastmaster and I have been posting but maybe not on the Hawaii topic area.

Yup, i've been here.....just counting the days until someone broke down and posted something. i would have put money on minihune being the one to post first!

I wish I could cut things out of my budget to save money for MINI mods! But my son loves the speed of our RR and the Discovery Kids channel which is exclusively on digital cable. No mods for me in the near future!

Minihune....i love monster garage. A friend of mine gets invited to JJ's parties all the time.....next time I'll probably get to go while up in cali! Maybe I'll become the next Mrs. Jesse James? If not, I'll marry Paul from American Chopper (my other favorite show) and if that fails, I could hook up with Steve from Monster House (my other favorite show)....if that fails.....hmmmmmm, I'm afraid I'll be stuck with my best friend's Filipino cousin who's looking for an American sponsor!

>>i also went to the sheraton hawaii bowl and it was a great game -- well worth my $40

My daughter and I went for free (two tickets) since she played in the half time show -tribute to the Ukelele.
A few days earlier we went to the stadium for practice and I walked the field area. Interesting new turf.
The grass blades look like fake christmas tree stuffing.

I liked the game and the two teams were well matched. Some good defence that caused turnovers and great special teams for Houston. Both team's had good quarterbacks that were tough. I thought Hawaii's receivers were better and we didn't even hear from Chad Owens.

Too bad my daughter doesn't really understand football.

As for posting in the Hawaii topic area and the absence of posts? I thought I would let it slide for awhile and see what was happening elsewhere in NAM. I do check it very often but have other things I am working on.

Uh oh! minihune's turning British on us! He's spelling defense, defence. Pretty soon it's going to be favour, honour...

Maybe I was watching those folks at the game with all the ti leaves and the big "D" and "fence" signs
getting the crowd into the game. The crowd could hardly perform the standard Wave. It would always stop in the "houston U." section. BOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Or maybe it was just a typo. It's hard to be british when you have no accent.
