Minihune provided considerable assistance today in helping me get Lucy's Euroshelf installed. (Well, he did most all of it, actually ... ) I have a decent collection of tools for my modest single chick household, but I did not have a torque wrench, which would have thrown a monkey in any attempt to install the shelf myself, since I wasn't even aware I needed a torque wrench for the job. They ought to include instructions with those shelves! (Well, not that it would have helped me, prolly ...)

I tried offering Minihune payment in the form of homemade cookies, to be delivered at the next Mini and a Movie, but he waved me off. My attempt to force him to name a cookie payment was cut short when my neighbor pulled up (he was parked in her spot) so I had to postpone the negotiations at that time. I hereby resume them ... Name your cookie, Minihune!

P.S. How about chocolate chip and macadamia nut cookies?

MINIangelD.

First thanks with the delivery of wax from mini-t. That helped.

No problem with the parcel shelf install. Glad we were able to get it completed just in the nick of time. (your neighbor needed her parking spot!). I knew we needed the torque wrench so I brought it along with a flashlight.

Enjoy your added space now with the shelf. I put CDs and my garage door opener there but under swift manuevers it is possible for everything to loose it's place. So a CD wallet works best.

Now in case you didn't realize it. In my haste to exit the parking space I ran off with ....
Your original knee bolster part- which you don't really need but I can give it back to you this weekend at the movie or anytime. Just let me know what is best for you. I didn't mean to run off with it but after we removed it I put it in a safe place in my passenger seat- didn't want the plastic to get scratched.

I was thinking of using my original part and doing some major surgery on it to create some added cubby space or shelf or something unique. Maybe a pop out CD holder or something. Gotta think about what is possible.

And thanks very much for the offer for the cookies. Choc chip and Mac Nut cookies? Sure that sounds good.
I'll be at the movie event this week.

I was wondering where I put the old part! To be honest, though, I wasn't looking for it, and never would have thought it was actually missing ... sad but true. Go ahead and bring it to the event this weekend, I'll take it off your hands.

Actually, after you left, I installed the glove box organizer, and to my dismay, my CD wallet no longer fit in the glove box! It took me a few minutes of shoving it in various orifices in the car, but I finally figured out it fit perfectly on the Euroshelf. Sometimes those blonde molecules fire off soooo slowly ...

Choc chip and mac nuts it is. See you Sunday.

Yup. I'm a cleptomaniac I guess.

Yes, check my post on using the euroshelf above this post. I mention the CD wallet is good for the shelf (or for the door pocket)

Hey, MINIangelD ...the Euroshelf's more convenient than the glove compartment -- that's better yet! Nice meeting you yesterday

erik808,

Yes, the Euroshelf is more convenient for the CD wallet ... I really like that shelf! It ought to be standard on all MINIs.

Nice meeting you too (I meant to post that somewhere earlier, but I kept forgetting).

In fact in the early european MINIs up until last year, they all came standard with two dash european shelves. More recently they come with a glovebox for the passenger side and the cubby (a smaller rectangular opening in an otherwise solid knee bolster). Copycats!

If you are bored and need some stimulation check out this eviltwin (also posted elsewhere on MCO)

Watch out- I might install this option on my MCS.
