[Hawaii] All British Car Day - 06/05/2005
All British Car Day
June5, 2005
The location will be the Kapiolani Park Parking Lot just mauka of the Waikiki Shell at the corner of Paki Ave. and Monsarrat Ave., same as in recent years. This offers paved areas for the cars along with grass and shade for picnics. Look for the banner, "Honolulu's All British Car Day".
Only British Cars will be allowed to park in the designated area
There will be :
Jags
MGs
Healeys
Triumphs
Minis
Morgans
Land Rovers
Lotus
& many others
There is ample parking for Non-British Cars in the adjacent Waikiki Shell parking lot.
The Meet will start at 9:00 AM and will be open until 3:00 PM, but cars will be able to come & go anytime throughout the day.
This Event is not a Concours d'Elegance where cars must come up to any pre-set standards, but a gathering of the faithful who love their British Cars. The Event also allows you to meet others who share your enthusiasm and a chance to get together with owners of like cars and swap stories. Your car need not be in show condition and we welcome works in progress. A small Entry Fee of $5 per car will be charged to help defray costs. Spectators are Free
Sponsored by the British Car Club of Hawaii and the Classic MGT's of Hawaii.
No Excuses
BE THERE !

Yes, MINIs are invited too. I just cut and pasted the email I got and posted it here, so I'm sorry for the confusion!
I'll be there in the morning, but just to look around. This will not be a club event, but I encourage the members who can dedicate the time to enter their car, or at least go to look and support the event.
Good question...thanks for asking!
By the way...for anyone thinking about going later on in the day, note that in the past, this event has closed down earlier than expected. The last couple of years, I went just after noon to find just a few straglers in the parking lot. Go early!

I must appologise! I was replying to a post that Beastmaster put up regarding weighing down the canopy and I think I erased his original post .
I hit Edit instead of quote and it all went screaming downhill from there.
Once again I appologise for the mistake.
Aloha!

He mentioned a tie strap in the center of the tent- connect to something or someone heavy!
Edit vs Quote button slip?
I've done that before.
