Alternatives for the GP3 - Endplay of Combustion
Since May I use another hatchback than the JCW as daily transport, the GR Yaris. The car impress every second and was the best buy ever. You dont have to pay more than 31.000 ( including 19% sales tax) to have an insane winner of stock performance.
The 31.000 includes - Rear Camera, CarPlay ( its working !) any every thinkable E gimmick.... which are worth with MINI further 4000 Dollars. Someone said Toyota loses 60.000 on each car they sell, but to buy a homologated rally car for customer sport you pay easy up to 600.000 for a non street legal WRC racer.
Funny it shares the GP3 tyre format of 225/35/18, the weight is nearly the same as the GP3, which is top for a 4WD . The brakes are bespoke and the 355mm front disc allow, opposite to the GP3 (360mm), to use the calipers with more sporty 17" Michelin Cup 2. You even can chose a staggered wheel setup with 255mm wide tires at the rear, which make sense as you can switch to rear wheel drive by pressing a button, so you brake a hairpin with 50:50 and leave it with a 30:70 power slide.
Top speed is limited to 230 km/h ( Japan 180 ), this is the only issue I dont like, it brakes down to 220, which is dangerous if you have your alter ego at your rear bumper.

You can of course use as an alternative for a GP3 also a modified GP3 :-)
On its way for the final test
As a matter of interest you can find 8 changes over the Original in this picture ! This does not show the rear, the underfloor and the interior. We managed to reduce the front weight by 70 kgs, overall we got more than a 100 kgs safe. There is still a potential of 60 kgs which due to Corona has been delayed for a 2022 race car participating in SP3T (2.0 Turbo Class) the winner of this year 24H at the Ring VW GOLF TCR is the benchmark.
