Interesting that the email says they are putting on the final finishing touches in OXford.
Good morning coopking,

The AccessPORT continues to bring my much joy every time I smash the gas pedal. Thank you.

I hope this does not come across weird but as I read your post I wanted to know if you would not mind showing my your new GP when you receive it? I highly doubt that I will get another opportunity to view the GP in person or even up close.

Let me know either way, and thank you again

True, but I am not conveniently located near a Mini dealer, let alone time it right to see one. No doubt every soon-to-be owner will take delivery as soon as humanly possible. Besides, if I beg hard enough I could actually get a ride in coopkings

I got my VIN, but they are still working out the pricing issues as it is different everywhere we look.

I went by the dealer this afternoon got my vin and production number and a form to prove it will be $39,950- plus tax and tags. Plus it is in transit to the final Vehicle Prep center near my dealer in NC they cannot sell them until the 5th March some sort of BS govt ruling.

I talked to my dealer today and he confirmed that the cars are already at the Prep Center. He said they won't start delivering the cars to the dealers until March 5th, so I'm hoping to be driving a my shiny new GP on the 6th. He also confirmed the price to be $39,950 plus tax and license. Hopefully there are no suprises.

I was told mine won't be delivered until March 15th. The cars are at the port but they are waiting for the numbers to arrive before they can deliver them.

Just read this.

M-30-0213-0008 - MINI JOHN COOPER WORKS GP - Delivery Date | View actual bulletinM-30-0213-0008 - MINI PRODUCT PLANNING & STRATEGY BULLETIN
MINI JOHN COOPER WORKS GP - Delivery Date

When is the GP racing into my dealership?!

Our original plan was to deliver the GP on or about March 5th; however, each US MINI John Cooper Works GP will come with a roof decal with a unique number that will range from 0001 to 0500. Unfortunately, there is a production delay on the number decals.

Because we are the ONLY market in the world (besides our Canadian neighbors) with this exclusive numbering system, our official delivery date for the GP is now April 5th.

We wish we could deliver the GPs now but our enthusiastic customers have told us to “Save the Numbers.” The number decals will be installed at the regional VDCs so don’t worry about the installation.

So gear your GP MINIacs to race out of your dealership with their racing inspired, blazing fast MINI John Cooper Works GP.

Wow. A whole month for a backordered decal? Shouldn't they have figured some of this stuff out back when they took deposits and people wanted to know what their "number" was?

Sorry to hear that! I got the news today also about the delay and was disappointed, to say the least. I can't imagine how I'd be feeling if I had sold a car expecting to take delivery. Seems to me that this is a little late notice for something that's going to delay delivery for a month. I'm just impatient more than inconvenienced, but still not real happy about the delay.

They are going to give me a loaner until the GP comes in. That is fine with me.

I was looking at the spec sheet for the, as of right now, unclaimed GPII coming to Sandia MINI in Albuquerque. They are all coming the same way with few options. At least heated seats are on the list. It was over $43k after destination and whatnot. Definitely a bargain over normal JCWs.

FlyinScott, it's nice to see you're moving up to the new one. You're old one was awesome. I haven't seen any of my NC folks since moving to New Mexico... :(

Words do not describe my frustration with MINI.I paid my deposit in July 2012 and was told delivery would be Nov - Dec then put off till March 5 now they say April !! and blame it on some BS about Decals. I will not even be in the country for the most of April - there better be zero miles on the car when they eventually deliver it. The dealers are incapable of putting two decals on a car - that shows a lot of trust from MINI. 1 very PO customer !!

I was told by the sales manger at Sandia that they were at port with an "on sale" date of 3/5. So, if you live on the east coast you will get yours a lot faster than most west coast or central US folks.

***** still...

I received a call from 2 dealers (the one I'm buying from and Prestige) that both confirmed that April 5 is the delivery date...

Hoping this is wrong... Really could use that car sooner.

Their GP is still without an owner and he expected it to be at the dealer by the 14th. He says they get cars a little over a week or so after they hit port. The GP was leaving port as I was talking with him and it was coming from GA.

Patience young grasshopper.

Wow. Luckily, I am way too poor to buy a GPII, but them being held back because of the decals is stupid. Let the owners have their cars and then install the decals when they get them. They are a port installed thing anyways...
